Read the reasons for our selections:
Sandown - Race 2 No. 14 Mr Mooj
With most of the main chances drawn wide, we will be sticking with the one that isn't and that is MR MOOJ. He ran home well second-up over 1800m at this track and will appreciate the mile and a half journey here. Will Price's claim takes him down to 52.5kg, and with a good gate he can settle probably in the box seat.
Randwick - Race 3 No. 11 Ice In Vancouver
Returning with a big win was ICE IN VANCOUVER who was excellent in his first campaign, recording comfortable back-to-back victories before a flop in the Kosciuszko, but there were genuine excuses (cardiac arrhythmia). Scratched from last Saturday's Highway, I'm loving this placement in a thin off-season race with just 52.5kg and he can stalk the leaders throughout.
Eagle Farm - Race 3 No. 2 Ayrton
AYRTON will be hard to beat coming out of a Fred Best Classic that rated through the roof. He was the one-time Stradbroke favourite and although not making the field, there is no doubting that he could still be anything with improvement to come with more race experience. Now having had the experience around Eagle Farm, he looks the winner.
Randwick - Race 9 No. 10 Blondeau
Bolting in fresh was BLONDEAU and the time for that 1200m contest stacked up superbly for that entire Gosford meeting. A gelding that handles all conditions, he was defeated second-up as an odds-on favourite, but has still rattled off the fastest last 600m for that entire May 22 meeting. Might be looking for this trip now and in a thin race, he can bounce back.
Sandown - Race 9 No. 14 Express Pass
EXPRESS PASS was great first-up and looks to have found the right race with just 51kg on his back thanks to the valuable claim of Matt Cartwright. He is a second-up winner and enjoys the soft ground, so we have another two ticks for him here. From barrier four, expect him to drop out as usual and look to swing wide, hopefully storming right over the top of them.
