Read the reasons for our selections below:
Doomben - Race 4 No. 13 Amiche
This Nicconi Mare is absolutely bomb proof with four wins and three placings from eight starts next to her name.
She kicked off this prep with a big win at this track in heavy ground in early March, but now has had a month off racing to recover from that effort which does look a positive.
She has not missed the top two second-up and has only missed the top three once from five cracks at the six furlongs, so based on consistency and form, she looks the best bet of the day.
Caulfield - Race 4 No. 9 Garvoc
Very confident that GARVOC can get another win on the board now plummeting in the weights and although rising in class, the form from last start has been super with the winner subsequently placing in metro class and the third horse winning at Sale. Barrier two just means he will need a little bit of luck, but he looks to have found his race to win in my eyes.
Randwick - Race 6 No. 1 Anamoe
The only knock I have for this Saturday with ANAMOE is that he is now approaching his fifth run of the preparation, so if he hasn't had enough, then he simply looks too good for them here. This colt arguably should be unbeaten where after being beaten a pimple fresh, drew wide and rattled home for placings in the Golden Slipper and Blue Diamond either side of a victory in Todman Stakes.
Caulfield - Race 9 No. 7 Plein Ciel
PLEIN CIEL has very good second-up form which I am going to stick with in this event. His first-up run was good enough in a race that was suited only to those on the pace, while his last prep second-up run was a dead heat win at Moonee Valley. He loves Caulfield with four wins and two placings next to his name from eight starts, so he is the horse that profiles as the winner for mine.
Randwick - Race 10 No. 6 Never Talk
Over the same track/trip for the three-year-old fillies, this is similar to the Light Fingers Stakes, a February 13 event which saw NEVER TALK rattle home and comfortably record the fastest last 600m/400m/200m when just missing behind Every Rose, who she has a 3kg weight swing on. Making ground for an eventual fourth-place finish in the Surround Stakes, the freshen-up and drop to 1200m looks ideal. Appeals as one of the best bets of the day in a thin race.
