Read the reasons for our selections:
Moonee Valley - Race 1 No. 3 How Womantic
This mare had some big booms on her throughout the Autumn where she was expected to race in Sydney at Group One level before she got a little bug.
How Womantic boasts an impressive win at this course where she won the Vobis Gold Carat at red figures.
She has an a couple of jumpouts to prepare for this event, the latter quite strong in a bunched finish.
With the rail true and from how the track played a fortnight ago when the rail was out five metres, we want to be on this inside five metres which may prove a leader bias track once again.
So on that note, looking at the speedmap here, she looks the natural go forward horse and should be able to control things from barrier two.
Morphettville - Race 2 No. 1 Brimarvi Vehero
We made this honest gelding our best bet on the August 1 program where he was heavily supported ($2.40-$1.80) and after getting the rails run, exploded away for a comfortable victory.
The six-year-old appears as a rather simple one in many ways to assess as he's almost exclusively a 1000m-1050m horse who especially on a good surface, is always thereabouts and he finds his pet conditions yet again (hasn't finished outside the first two in six attempts over this track and trip).
He has a sharp but short turn of foot which is best at use from a forward position with cover and once again, draws for the favours where he should be the first threat in the run home to Domination and One More Jack up front.
Respecting the resuming favourite in Seemingly Discreet, however, with the claim which sees Brimarvi Vehero carrying only one kilo more for what's a slight drop in grade, he's the safest option here as the best bet on the card.
Moonee Valley - Race 5 No. 3 Age Of Chivalry
This looks a two horse race between Age Of Chivalry and Showmanship, and we are simply tipping this bloke because he will have the tactical advantage.
He was great first-up behind Viridine who was super fit, and he always improves second-up into his prep, having already won twice from four goes as well as a minor placing.
There does look some speed in this race, so he will either be outside the leader or tucked in just behind which will be perfect.
Showmanship defied the pattern at Caulfield when he won, but he will have to swoop once again and at $2, he is a major risk considering what the pattern could be once again.
Randwick - Race 6 No. 3 Hungry Heart
Hungry Heart is one the more exciting three-year-old fillies entering this new season and despite being the early outright favourite for the Flight Stakes over a more suitable journey, we'll bank on the best horse in this field having enough class to strike fresh.
She already proven to be no slouch over these sprint journeys regardless when placing over five-furlongs on debut before a group win over this track and trip in the Autumn and didn't lose any fans following that with her Golden Slipper fifth-placing before being spelled.
A daughter of the mighty Frankel and out of a Pivotal (1000m Group One winner in England) mare, there's definite balance in her breeding which allows for good versatility with this three-year-old who has plenty of X-Factor and returns a more seasoned galloper now.
From barrier three and off two decent trials, it'd be surprising if she wasn't forward enough for this Furious Stakes fresh and on ability, Hungry Heart can get her campaign off to a strong start as the best bet at Randwick this Saturday.
Doomben - Race 6 No. 6 Malahide
Resuming first-up off a fantastic trial was this Michael Costa-trained mare looks primed for a massive fresh performance at Doomben this Saturday.
The five-year-old daughter of Shamus Award has won three of four first-up races and was dominant in her most recent trial on Tusday morning.
With a hot speed expected, jockey Mathew McGillivray who rode her in that most recent piece of work can sit off a hot tempo and launch late.
A fantastic fresh performer is Malahide who looks ready to continue that strong first-up trend as out best bet on the card.
