Warwick Farm Racing Tips For March 25 2020

An eight race midweek program has been scheduled at Warwick Farm this Wednesday.

The track is currently in the Soft 5 range and the rail is in the 5m position from the 1000m to the winning post and 3m for the remainder.

Warwick Farm Best Bet

Race 4 No. 3 Corncrake

This progressive son of Mastercraftsman broke through for a much deserved Australian victory at Kembla Grange on March 13.

He was did it the tough way on that occasion where he was sent forward and forced to cover extra ground throughout when asked to go early and duly out-stayed his rivals.

The catalyst was the step up to 2400 metres there and with Hugh Bowman remaining in the saddle, is drawn to stalk the speed here where he drops 1kg off that last start win.

A prospect of stepping back onto a rain-affected track is the main query for Corncrake, however if it can stay in that Soft 6/7 range at worst, then he's well placed to win again as the best bet at Warwick Farm.

Warwick Farm Value Bet

Race 8 No. 2 Travancore

Whilst the inside gate is an unknown at this stage, we have to respect the big drop in class for this Clare Cunningham-trained gelding.

He trialed superbly prior to a resumption in a leader-biased Benchmark 88 at Saturday level before moving on to the Listed Federal Sprint over the Canberra Carnival where he certainly wasn't disgraced for sixth.

Now third-up and to mile, he should be about ready to strike and it's worth noting the last time he was on this track/trip and grade, he scored comfortably and carries the same weight as then courtesy of the Louise Day claim.

Travancore is well placed and with a bit of luck from barrier two, he looks one of the better value prospects on the Wednesday Warwick Farm card.

Warwick Farm Roughie

Race 6 No. 7 Who's Knocking

From the Canberra stable of Trevor Mcllrick is this mare that shouldn't be discounted despite her long odds.

She was a big price when resuming in an $80,000 sprint race on Black Opal Stakes Day and whilst she didn't have the class to go with Handle The Truth and Royal Witness, she just about the pick of the rest when whacking away on the inside for fifth.

This is certainly a step down in grade compared to that talented quinella and finished close to Black Magnum in third who's city class and rated above anything in this field.

Three of Who's Knocking's six career victories have come second-up and in what isn't an overly deep race, she can run a race at a huge quote.
