Warwick Farm Roughie - Race 4 No. 1 Defeat

Arriving here third-up is this gelding from the Tracey Bartley stable in Wyong who's returned in fair fashion and had excuses last time out.

After an honest third when resuming behind a dominant Frosty Rocks here on June 8, he was well supported late in the John Charlton at Grafton ($5.50-$4.80) in a bid to qualify for the Listed Ramornie Handicap.

Not much went right for Defeat on that occasion where after settling off the speed, couldn't the find the run he was searching for at a key moment in the straight which halted any momentum he had.

From barrier one and stepping up to a more suitable seven furlongs where he can settle closer in the run, Defeat isn't without an each way hope at a big price.

TAB HANDICAP Tips (Race 5)

Warwick Farm Value Bet - Race 5 No. 6 Nicconita

It was hard to miss her first-up run at Canberra when getting home strongly for third after she was well specked at a long price ($17-$11).

An honest daughter of Nicconi, Nicconita ultimately found the five furlongs a little on the sharp side which her record supports (no victories below 1200 metres) and this could well be a set play from the John Bateman in a winnable fillies and mares affair.

With the three-kilo claim of Brock Bryan, she drops a whopping five kilos off that fresh attempt and her worst second-up result to date was a fourth placing in 2019 when carrying three kilos more to what she he has here versus a stronger line-up.

Nicconita will settle off the speed and with any improvement off the first-up for what may be a target at this stage of her campaign, she's in the mix here at an early value quote.

Warwick Farm Best Bet - Race 6 No. 6 Seeingisbelieving

On a tough card for a standout, this Kim Waugh-trained gelding makes each-way appeal in the penultimate from Warwick Farm this Wednesday.

A consistent son of Sebring, Seeingisbelieving arrived in the last stride to score fresh at Port Macquarie on June 23 with the late market drift ($2.15-$2.70) indicating he may have needed that run fresh on a heavy track.

His form in town last time in does read well at this level and a few stronger Benchmarks in a campaign that saw him very competitive around some useful gallopers that include Dabiyr and Opacity.

There doesn't appear to be a stack of speed in this contest and with the ability to sit handy along with the benefit of the three-kilo Brandon Griffiths claim, Seeingisbelieving can give a great site as the best bet at Warwick Farm.
