Warwick Farm Blackbook Runners - Wednesday, November 27

Seven races were completed on the midweek Sydney program from Warwick Farm on Wednesday via a Good 4 surface and whilst it was no disadvantage to be on-speed, a few winners on the afternoon were able to make ground.

Below are three runners highlighted from the program.

Warwick Farm Race 5 - Zaniah

This three-quarter sister to the 2014 Caulfield Guineas champion Shooting To Win and group winner Deep Field should be getting to at least Saturday grade soon enough.

Admittedly didn't beat a vintage mares line-up on resumption but was well placed by Kris Lees for a fresh kill and they certainly got that with a one length victory in the finish.

Unbeaten from three Australian starts now after two soft wins last time in, she has a high cruising speed where she takes luck out of the equation early which will hold her in good stead as she attempts to lift her rating.

Gave a nice kick late, was still the strongest on the line and is open to further improvement.

Likely Target: Plenty of options for now with her low rating. Straight to Saturday BM78 or one of the Canterbury BM70's.

Warwick Farm Race 6 - Shadow Flight

An honest gelding from the Jamie Thomsen yard in Hawkesbury that backed up a good fresh effort at Rosehill on November 9 to narrowly go under here.

Ultimately, he lacks the turn of foot to put away a midweek BM70 field over seven furlongs but was still drawing away from everything bar the winner in Plenty.

The form with those behind him was fair with several last start winners back in the field and got past a few that are above average in that Rosehill run prior to this.

Another with a low rating that it's in at the right time of the season, fitter now and over a touch further, should be able to pick off a race or two.

Likely Target: Again, another that isn't short on races that he can be entered into, preferably now over a mile, though.

Warwick Farm Race 7 - Petronius

Races in the famous Arrowfield colours does this colt by the unfortunately departed champion sire in Redoute's Choice and this return had plenty of merit.

It's never easy for a three-year-old to take on the older horses, especially one of this nature that will prosper over more ground and he certainly wasn't disgraced behind Embracer who'll win better races himself soon.

After coming off the bit early chasing the speedy winner, he fought through a lengthy flat spot in the straight to repel everything else back in the field and it was good blow-out to now build off.

Showed potential up against good opposition in his first racing preparation and looks as though he's ready to furnish into a tidy galloper.

Likely Target: Suspect they step up to at least six furlongs next start, perhaps even a little further.
