The Gong 2019 Racing Tip - Can Luvaluva peak for her target?

The Gong will be run for first time this Saturday at Kembla Grange with the $1 million dollar feature being run over a mile.

Whilst the absolute cream of the crop haven't accepted, there's group one performers scattered throughout a large line-up.

2019 The Gong Odds

El Dorado Dreaming$6.00
Noble Boy$7.50
Military Zone$7.50
Star Of The Seas$8.00
Mister Sea Wolf$14.00

Odds are provided by Sportsbet and are correct as of 21/11/19 - 2.00pm.

The Gong Best Bet - Luvaluva

This multiple group winning mare is building towards this target superbly if her first two runs this campaign are anything to go by.

She was runner-up when fresh to the fit and in-form Greyworm who was able to eventually dictate proceedings up front.

Luvaluva settled at the rear second-up on November 9 after drawing barrier ten where she was still ultimately a run short but with plenty to do from a tough spot, was again strong late,

This has been the clear target this preparation, she draws well in barrier six and is set to peak as the best bet in the $1 million dollar Gong.

The Gong Next Best Bet - El Dorado Dreaming

Interesting scenario with this four-year-old who broke her maiden in the 2019 Group One Sires Produce at cricket score odds and hasn't won in ten attempts since.

Whilst the winning strike rate is a worry she hasn't exactly turned it up at the highest level with three group one placings since then and it was a strong fresh effort in the Hot Danish Stakes.

She was given a lovely run in transit before coming off the fence, balancing up late and was able to explode in the last 100m for third.

That get back and run on without winning prevalence is there but she certainly has the ability to win a race of this nature.

The Gong Best Value Bet

Hard horse to catch is this Chris Waller trained galloper who was ordinary in the Redzel Stakes on November 2 off a freshen-up.

Can throw up the shocker so it wasn't a complete surprise but I wonder following that Group Two win prior to that in late September second-up, whether they backed off him by design for this race.

Clearly better suited with the step back up to a mile and his most recent peak runs over the journey have been when kept on the fresh side.

Tough one to trust but I'd respect any strong market push with James McDonald reuniting who was aboard when he won that Shannon Stakes.
