Sandown Racing Tips For March 11 - Can Ocean Dew perform up to her trial?

Sandown hosts eight races which all look very competitive, a card that we feel we have found some early value.

The rail sits out six metres and racing on the Hillside track means that swoopers will have their chance.

We are excited to see a 3YO filly in the first leg of the quaddie and we are keen to follow a horse in the last race.

Sandown Favourite

Race 7 No. 8 Dune Field

I was taken by this runners performance last start at Sandown, although having all the favours, he won with so much ease.

Jumping from gate one was the final tick for me here, he will not have to work to find the lead or in behind the leader, helping him with the step up in class.

Craig Williams sticks with him and the form around him looks very well suited to his opposition.

I'm not sure I want to invest too heavily at the price, but he certainly is the one they have to beat in the race.

Sandown Roughie

Race 3 No. 4 Du Well

I have this galloper marked around $5 with a 100% market, the favourite at a much longer quote off the back of an un-impressive trial.

Forget this horses last start run as we now know that he does not go on a wet track, so we need to judge him off the back of the Pakenham win two back.

That win was great considering it had been a long time between drinks, he hit the front early showing how tough he is.

He is drawn to get the box seat and at the current quote, he represents as a great value bet in this race.

Sandown Best Bet

Race 5 No. 12 Ocean Dew

This fillies trial really caught my eye at Cranbourne last week.

She had a smother in the run and after a little bump with 200m to run, she savaged the line under no riding.

I have her marked around the $6 mark, where she is currently great value at $8.50.

She has had three starts with one poor performance coming on a heavy track.

She was beaten by city competitive Flandersrain first up and finished off the prep with an impressive victory at Wangaratta over Just Jake.

Mark Zahra rode the filly in the trial and the fact he is sticking with the ride is a positive sign.

If she can find a spot from the wide gate, she will go a long way to winning this and at the current value, must go on top as my best bet of the Sandown program.

Sandow Next Best Bet

Race 8 No. 7 Royal Crown

This horse boasts some nice form lines from last start with both the first and second place getters since coming out and winning races, including the Stony Creek Cup.

He ran very well considering the sting was out of the ground and it was a sprint home, benefiting those two horses in front.

I can see there being a little more pace in the race and the longer straight of Sandown only helps him run home harder.

He finds the perfect race to record another win and we will be cashing in on him.
