Sandown Tips September 9

Ladbrokes Back Yourself Handicap Tips (Race 3)

Sandown Best Bet - Race 3 No. 1 Aysar

This boy is my number one Guineas selections, so hopefully he can put pay to some reasonably trong opposition first-up.

His first-up run last prep was fantastic against the bias at Mornington, taking a lot of ground off the leaders to run third, before running belting his oppositoin at Sandown in impressive fashion at his subsequent start.

The reports from the stable are that he is their number one Colt heading into the Spring, so this should be a confidence boosting win before tackling the Prelude in a few weeks time.

He draws favouarbly in gate four, where he should either take the lead or settle a pair behind the leaders, before unleasing his big turn of foot.

Bet of the month.

MRC Membership Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Sandown Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 14 Oh Please Dianna

The second racing preparation of the daughter of Karuta Queen kicks off in the sixth event here where Oh Please Dianna is expected to come out firing.

She was given a ridiculously easy win ay Moprhettvlle in her latest trial on August 27,  putting pay to Lady Pavli Chenko who is no slouch.

She was place fifth in the Typhoon Tracy Stakes last prep, 1.6 lengths behind Ms Catherine before running fifth at Flemington.

Oh Please Dianna looks to have taken the necessary improvement from last prep to be competitive in this race, so we are happy to be backing her each-way first-up from a brilliant barrier (six).

How often do Sandown race?

Sandown often race on a Wednesday afternoon as Victoria's midweek metropolitan track. Sandown also hosts a feature Group 2 in the Spring Carnival with the running of the Zipping Classic.

What is the difference between Hillside and Lakeside?

Hillside is the track that goes all othe way around the course and eliminates a chute that is cut through the middle of the track, whereas that surface through the middle of the track is the Lakeside. The right hand side of the course is used across both tracks.
