Al Dorama looks tough to beat in race three at Sandown

Sandown Bets Bets, Tips & Betting Preview

Sandown is racing Wednesday on the hillside track, with the rail out eight meters for the entire circuit. The track is currently in the heavy range and will likely stay there for whole program.

The track played reasonably fair with the rail out three metres but I think horses will be wanting to get out wide here.

Sandown Hillside Favourites

Race 3 No. 10 Al Dorama - $3.20 via BetEasy

The first up effort from this galloper was very good, finishing third behind two smart horses in Ray’s Dream and Too Good Too Hard. He was in the wrong part of the ground, being on the inside nearly pinching the race before the two mentioned came down the outside to grab him late.

He was the only horse in the race to run a sub 11 split between the 600m and 400m where he darted up on the inside to pinch what was almost the winning break.

The new season four-year-old has drawn the outside gate which will suit a horse who can blast off quick splits on a rain effected track.

Sandown Hillside Roughies

Race 7 No. 7 Diplomac Jack - $10 via BetEasy

I blackbooked this horse from Moonee Valley last start. I cannot believe that he has come up at $10.

He worked home well considering he copped a big check on the turn as he stated building into his work. He was beaten three and a half lengths when on the worst part of the ground – I would say the margin seems a little unfair.

He boasts a win over Laure Me In and Heir To The Throne at Flemington and has okay second up form.

He needs the pace on to show his turn of foot, which he gets with the likes of Taksu and Frankly Harvey up the front.

He looks a terrific each way special.

Race 4 No. 12 Paris

Now this filly has potential written all over her. She broke her maiden last start on the heavy 10 at Cranbourne and got through it well enough. She also whipped up the fastest last 400m-200m split and 200m-post split of the entire race meeting.

The Freedman trained three-year-old draws barrier nine and should settle midfield here and with the claim from Teo Nugent, she drops to 52kg.

Paris will be given plenty of room as they enter the straight and with the light weight, she can show that she is a stakes class filly.

She possesses more class than her rivals here and can put them to the sword here on the home turn with her explosive turn of foot.

Sandown Hillside Next Best

Race 5 No. 16 Outlandos

The three-year-old trialled well at Cranbourne, winning his heat in impressive fashion.

He settled out the back of a packed field before peeling seven and eight wide push hard to the line in the final 150m. He won the trial by three and a half lengths.

His form last prep was behind horse such as La Tene and Free Of Debt who would trounce this field.

He is yet to have a start on heavy ground, but being by Dissident he should be able to plough through it. The trial at Cranbourne was also rain effected which he seemed to lap up.

From gate three he will settle back and hopefully peel wide to come over the top of them in the final bounds.
