Belmont Roughie Tips
Belmont Roughie - Race 6 No. 1 Beat The Bro
There are enough knocks on both market elects and in a line-up that is lacking quality, this gelding is more than capable of figuring third-up. Especially after the 1.5kg claim, the weights are quite condensed in this line-up which suits the class runner, who is in the finish more often than not.
Belmont Roughie - Race 9 No. 4 Liwia
After going back early from a wide gate, she was forced to circle the field second-up, whereas the winner had a more economical passage over the 1100m. With a 2kg weight swing on the fav and drawing to get a softer run in transit this time, the price discrepancy here is a little surprising.

Doomben Roughie Tips
Doomben Roughie - Race 5 No. 7 Cafe Royal
Did fail in her only attempt at 1600m, hence her price here, but seemed to come to the end of her prep in that effort irrespective. After back-to-back Sydney wins, she got a black-type placing on the Gold Coast and faces a similar field at Doomben. Has tactical speed and excels on wet tracks.
Doomben Roughie - Race 6 No. 11 Salateen
Is long odds in a deep field, but we're only going back to Jan 1 to see her win a stakes race at Doomben, a circuit that she's unbeaten on. Although well held into third via her return, she was the second market elect in that Gold Coast event and had won her prior heavy track appearance.
Flemington Roughie Tips
Flemington Roughie - Race 4 No. 3 Kir Royale
Was a stylish winner at starts two and three over summer, while tipped out with the QLD Winter Carnival in mind, resumed as fav at Eagle Farm, where she was plain. Happy to forgive one bad run and that can be a horses for courses track. Now contesting a filly's BM78, she's a big price.
Flemington Roughie - Race 6 No. 7 Kinane
Although not at his brilliant best, it is a positive to see him finding some form this campaign after falling off a cliff last time in. He drops 3kg off of his last start, which was a closing fourth to Sir Davy at Sandown and that followed a strong return at Caulfield. Could easily blow this field away.
Morphettville Roughie Tips
Morphettville Roughie - Race 3 No. 13 Jean Valjean
Spelled after an arrogant maiden victory at start three, it was a messy first-up watch at Gawler when originally losing touch with them and then was checked when picking up late. He covered ground when well beaten last start, but can be a big improver from a low gate here third-up.
Morphettville Roughie - Race 9 No. 14 I Am Bene
It's a massive class rise, but it's not a strong edition of the Proud Miss and this is an exciting filly. Spelled after running good time in a slick debut win, she was ridden to an on-speed bias fresh and was vulnerable in that return, so the win had more merit than the end margin indicates.
Rosehill Roughie Tips
Rosehill Roughie - Race 5 No. 10 Saucey Horsey
Pulled up lame in a listed tilt, but has won either side of that and remained unbeaten on heavy ground when bouncing back at Kilmore. From the powerful Maher & Eustace stable, she carries 5kg less for a BM72 against her own age, with this her first attempt at 2000m. Loves the wet.
Rosehill Roughie - Race 8 No. 13 Sunborn
Is up in class from a first-up Midway win, but was good multiple times at group level in her two-year-old season and was BM78 placed last spring, so is capable of measuring up in this grade. The key to that return was ticking the heavy track box and from barrier one, she can settle closer.
