Ascot Roughie - Race 6 No. 5 Chantorque
Can improve third-up, a mare that caught the eye with a big fresh run on March 12, recording the fastest last 600m of that event. She got back in a muddling affair second-up over six furlongs and now dropping back to 1000m, there's more tempo with the very speedy Ziebell in this.

Caulfield Roughie - Race 7 No. 16 Teewaters
Is against more seasoned rivals, but this son of Dundeel is progressive and is perhaps getting set for an SA Derby. Gave Tigertiger a galloping lesson at start two over 2000m, a trip he gets to here off a decent return and we've seen the Hitotsu and El Patroness form stack up in the autumn.

Caulfield Roughie - Race 8 No. 12 Poland
This is harder than Bendigo, a run that had merit, sitting three-wide in a fast run affair and providing a perfect tow into it for the winner. Was very good fresh against Marabi and wasn't well placed in a Newmarket second-up. Blinkers go back on and he's a Group 2 winner over this track/trip.

Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 6 No. 2 Always Sure
Heads north to avoid the heavy tracks and now fourth-up at 1600m, he shouldn't be far away now. Appeared to be building well off a second-up run behind Military Expert and was a month between runs on March 19. Has weight, but his Sydney form from last prep is certainly good enough.

Bit of a make-or-break prep for this very talented, but quirk mare. Chris Waller has had a full campaign with her now, arriving off two Sydney trials and a fast-run 1000m does simplify things first-up. Brings short starting prices from a host of strong races and is each-way odds for this resumption.

Oakbank Roughie - Race 1 No. 2 Pontedera
Had jumped cleanly in his lead-up trial, so willing to forgive the April 2 debut where he was tardy away and then briefly struggled to muster. From nowhere, the three-year-old has done well to get as close as he did and along with natural improvement at start two, he also gets the winkers on.

Resumed with a second prior to finding a leader dominated affair in the CS Hayes, with that second-up run better than it looked on first glance. Was out-sprinted over 1200m last start, but was again in the finish and with fresh legs late over his pet trip of 1400m, he can go close at a good price.

Is still learning the caper, but has talent, recording two stylish victories so far. He showed a slick turn-of-foot to salute on Feb 7 and while rolled as an odds-on fav at Mudgee, that winner (Great Buy) subsequently broke a class record in a country qualifier.
