The Listed Winter Stakes headlines the Saturday Sydney program from Rosehill this Saturday where the rail is in the 5m position throughout.

Soft 6 is the current track reading and there is some chance of rain predicted over Friday and race day.

Rosehill Value Bet - Race 2 No. 2 My Swashbuckler

Following a forgivable Australian debut at Randwick Kensington where he was slow to recover post-race, this import made a big improvement off a little freshen-up when the ear muffs were applied following that May 20 flop.

A winner over nine furlongs in Europe and a placegetter over 3000 metres, the step up from the mile to ten furlongs is heavily in this gelding's favour now third-up with Glen Boss remaining in the saddle.

Off a good rolling tempo up front in that last attempt, he was the pick of closers with a race fastest last 600m of 37.18 when doing his best work late behind Agassi who won again last Saturday.

As potentially the one ready to peak in this field and with the ability to handle these rain-effected tracks, My Swashbuckler is the likely danger to early favourite in Fulmina and can be supported each-way.

Rosehill Roughie - Race 4 No. 6 Cafe Royal

Making her first city appearance here on June 27 was this filly from the Nathan Doyle stable in Newcastle who won fresh the start prior and she can be forgiven for that last start defeat despite the 3.3 length losing margin.

After winning her first three outings, she was very unlucky not to have made it four in a row in late February where the jockey eased up on her over the concluding stages and as a consequence lost narrowly to Game Of Thorns, who's been group competitive multiple times either side of that race.

With Vienna Rain showing strong intent early with the blinkers going on and the speedy Frosty Rocks crossing from a wide alley, Sam Clipperton had a nice trailing position on Cafe Royal, however, she did proceed to over-race when the brakes went on up front on June 27.

The first two home swooped from out wider and off the speed with Cafe Royal sticking to the task well in third and now with that seven furlong run under the belt, she's capable of another big run with a more genuine tempo.

Rosehill Feature Bet - Race 7 No. 6 Sambro

Although it's hard to get enthused about a bad winning strike rate, this five-year-old is going well enough to pinch this Listed Winter Stakes and now finally gets a good gate after drawing out via his last outings.

Two of this gelding's three career victories have come at group level via back-to-back triumphs as a three-year-old in the Hawkesbury Guineas and Queensland Guineas of 2018.

Whilst he hasn't won since, Sambro has put together multiple competitive efforts at stakes-level since then which includes the Civic Stakes performance when closing off late from an impossible position.

If Glen Boss is able to settle Sambro a few pairs closer in the run from barrier two, then he's a leading each-way chance in what looks to be competitive Winter Stakes.

Rosehill Best Bet - Race 8 No. 11 Kordia

He did appear as the obvious on class to take out this last race of Saturday's Rosehill June 27 card, however, being first-up after more than 12 months off, the effort to produce straight away after such a lengthy spell was admirable.

A three-year-old son of Epaulette, his 34.06 last 600m was only bettered on the card by his stable mate's in Roheryn who flashed home to win the Benchmark 94 earlier on the program.

This gelding did culminate that first racing preparation with a listed victory over 1400 metres and despite perhaps looking for a little further now, sitting off a strong speed with a two kilo drop in the weights appears favourable.

Whilst this is obviously stronger coming up in grade, many in this line-up appear to be right at their mark and as the one still on the up, Kordia can progress further as the best bet at Rosehill this Saturday.

Rosehill Next Best Bet - Race 9 No. 1 Stella Sea Sun

This honest four-year-old is at a generous opening price dropping two and a half kilos off her fresh win at Randwick on June 20 in this same Benchmark albeit in a fillies and mares field.

With six wins and six placing's from her 15 career starts to date, it's hard to fault the consistency of this well-bred mare who's only major flop was in the $400,000 Provincial Championships Final in April and was spelled following that.

We only need to take a quick look at the ratings of her opposition here to find that no runner is close to the Benchmark rating and with 57.5kg after the claim, she's very well in her rating of 83.

Stella Sea Sun handles any ground and with more options this time around from barrier three, she a strong chance at a nice quote in the last from Rosehill Gardens.
