Wyong Value Bet - Race 1 No. 4 Preordain
He always showed potential at the trials and the Gary Portelli-trained colt opened a short price on debut, which followed a second in a heat behind King Of Dubai, who won a strong city maiden fresh.
On a Heavy 8 surface, Preordain was a notable drifter ahead of that first race day appearance at Gosford and while he never threatened the winner, he stuck to the task fairly well for third.
The son of Maurice now gets a metro rider aboard and along with natural improvement predicted at start two, he should also be suited by the extra 150m and the likelihood of firmer ground.
Pride Excavations BM64 Handicap Tips (Race 2)
Wyong Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 4 Youthfull
This daughter of So You Think appeared to be building okay ahead of her last assignment over the 2000m at Hawkesbury, where Youthfull was back in grade third-up and suited up in distance.
Nothing went right in that December 3 attempt, where the five-year-old was held up in the home straight after tracking the leaders and it's worth noting she did start fav in that BM64.
Youthfull was also unlucky in a BM72 metro return, while a switch to Wyong is no negative, as she beat Dreamdeel in her last try over this track/trip, a galloper who won two of his next three.
Magic Millions Wyong 3yo & 4yo Stakes Tips (Race 4)
Wyong Best Bet - Race 4 No. 6 Royal Merchant
Visually, she was a little disappointing first and third-up, however, the four-year-old did face two strong performances from Magic Time and Roots, with the former winning a Group 1 two starts later.
Maher & Eustace have freshened up Royal Merchant and the blinkers have now been applied to The Goodwood winner, and she wore the shades when winning a recent tick-over trial.
That most recent workout indicates she's back on track and at set weights here as a two-time stakes winner, where she's 25 rating points clear of her next rival, Royal Merchant is superbly placed.
Wyong Leagues Group Provincial BM68 Tips (Race 5)
Wyong Roughie - Race 5 No. 6 Soloist
While it was just an even resumption at Hawkesbury, this gelding has no winning form over sprint trips and with all victories in the 1300m-1500m range, that 1100m run was a pass mark.
Although he's technically up in grade to a BM68 second-up, with a softer draw over a more suitable distance here, Soloist is better placed this time around, especially carrying 2kg less.
Barrier one allows the son of Your Song to settle in the first few pairs at Wyong, a circuit which he has placed at in both attempts and that includes a third in a stronger BM68 back in February.
