TAB HANDICAP Tips (Race 3)
Warwick Farm Value Bet - Race 3 No. 7 Linguee
While she's still very much a work in progress, this filly does have ability and despite being a little tardy away on return at Newcastle, recorded a first-up victory on June 12 to make it two wins from three starts overall.
The one defeat for Linguee came on debut in December where absolutely nothing went right for her as favourite, making contact with the barrier on jumping and laid in over the last furlong after racing three-wide throughout that journey.
That event at Gosford has turned out to be a strong Maiden (multiple winners produced including city winner Expat) and drawing barrier eight for Tommy Berry, she does go up in the weights, but is back against the three-year-old fillies second-up.
ADMIRE MARS AT ARROWFIELD HANDICAP Tips (Race 4)
Warwick Farm Value Bet - Race 4 No. 1 Spanish Point
This son of Frankel was big odds for his third-up assignment at Randwick-Kensington, but he brought some reasonable form for that June 16 attempt where he worked home strongly for a third over the 1550m.
With that runner-up in Maccomo placing at Rosehill last Saturday and the winner Nyami recording back-to-back victories in that most recent clash, this certainly doesn't look any harder for Spanish Point, who shouldn't be far off a peak performance.
From off the speed, his first-up effort certainly had merit given it was over 1300m, a trip that is too sharp for Spanish Point and via his June 2 performance, was set an impossible task when eased back to the rear before making some inroads late.
CHINA HORSE CLUB HANDICAP Tips (Race 5)
Warwick Farm Best Bet - Race 5 No. 5 Matowatakpe
A galloper that always takes a few runs to hit his straps is this gelding, who was good fresh prior to his second-up performance where he's recorded easily the fastest last 600m and 200m of that June 19 affair over 1300m.
Competing on a Saturday at BM78 level with a rating of only 69, Matowatakpe is better placed here third-up with a little drop in grade and on his home circuit of Warwick Farm, a track in which he's undefeated on from two attempts (both on wet tracks).
Although drawn out for this 1400m event, middle and wider lanes are generally preferred at Warwick Farm when it is rain affected and with a strike rate of 27.1% over the last 12 months here, the Bjorn Baker stable always warrants respect when playing at home.
XXXX HANDICAP Tips (Race 6)
Warwick Farm Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 1 Hibiscus Lady
My main concern is the inside draw on what will be a testing surface late in the day, however, this mare does have tactical speed so Louise Day can be positive early and with some initiative, can get her into the right slot on settling.
The form otherwise for Hibiscus Lady is faultless for this third-up attempt where although she does rise a little in the weights, that is due to the drop in grade, now coming back to BM72 against her own sex after a brave effort when narrowly defeated on June 16.
Her fresh effort at Warwick Farm was strong when making late ground behind a slick Nikohli Beagle and her summer form around the likes of Lillemor (subsequent Listed winner) and Never Talk (Group placed) reads very well for this.
