Toowoomba Tips September 28

A.G. Rigging Class 6 Handicap Tips Tips (Race 2)

Toowoomba Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 2 Cloudland

The gelding won twice in Sydney when racing on the Kensington track at Randwick last year and came close to scoring on the main track at that course when racing first up this prep.

The selection was beaten just under two lengths when runner-up in a 1200m Benchmark 78 handicap on that occasion.

The six-year-old bounded on jumping when racing on a soft 7 surface that day with that form working out well thanks to subsequent wins for the third and sixth.

The son of Swiss Ace went on to be beaten just over half-a-length when placing third in a 1200m Class 6 set weights event at Eagle Farm two weeks ago.

Andrew Mallyon’s mount overraced in the middle stages at Eagle Farm and he has performed well over the 1300m he tackles here in the past.

A wide barrier shouldn’t pose too many issues here and Kris Lees’ gelding is taken to deliver his third win from four starts over this distance.

Toowoomba Value Bet - Race 4 No. 11 Miss Bayles

Kevin Kemp’s representative demonstrated ability when placing second twice at Kembla Grange last year.

The filly was banned for three months having bled at Canberra when reportedly failing to handle the soft 5 track on her second start of 2024 in March.

However, she has left previous form well behind in two starts since joining the Kevin Kemp stable ahead of her return to action here early last month.

The selection broke her maiden by a narrow margin when making all the running on a good 4 track in a track and trip maiden that day.

The four-year-old proved that she is versatile with regard to tactics when delivering an impressive victory over 1300m in a Class 1 handicap here earlier this month.

Kenji Yoshida, on board for both of those course victories is again set to ride and racing off a low weight his mount looks capable of completing a hat-trick.

Toowoomba Best Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Daytona

The five-year-old is a dual winner this prep including when finishing strongly from off the pace in a Class 5 handicap over this distance at Ipswich in May.

The pick placed twice from his next four starts before saluting by half-a-length when racing over the same distance on a soft 7 surface at Doomben last month.

The gelding went on to lose out narrowly when runner-up in a similar event over the same track and trip subsequently with that latest effort coming on a good 3 track.

The form of that contest has been boosted by the third home winning at Gold Coast subsequently with the selection boasting a good barrier here.

Regular pilot Ryan Maloney, on board for all three efforts mentioned previously is again set to ride with hold-up tactics expected once more.

Tony Gollan has his string in good form at present with a double at Doomben on Wednesday among his recent winners and his sprinter looks up to defying top weight.

Toowoomba Feature Bet - Race 8 No. 12 Wanda Rox

The daughter of Wandjina has demonstrated a liking for this venue in the past winning six times from eight starts at this track.

The five-year-old ended her last prep with a good three-and-a-half-length fourth in the 1100m Military Rose Plate at Gold Coast in March.

The selection raced on a good 3 track when racing against her own sex that day and trialled over 925m on the inner track here ahead of her return to action two weeks ago.

The selection delivered an impressive four-and-a-half-length victory when racing over 1000m in a Benchmark 78 handicap at Eagle Farm on her seasonal reappearance.

The mare shaped like an improved performer racing wide and in concussion plates for the first time that day and she has a good barrier next to the rail here.

While the pick failed to shine on her only previous start at this distance she looks worth another try at this trip and is selected to complete a double.
