Tatura Value Bet - Race 3 No. 10 You Little Nipper
The four-year-old demonstrated good form around this time last year placing third in two of her first three starts.
Those efforts included a one-and-a-half-length defeat when third over 1400m at Warrnambool at the start of November.
The pick was spelled following that effort and she proved a disappointment dropped to 1200m when eighth on Ballarat’s synthetic surface on her return to action in August.
The Lean Mean Machine filly performed better stepped back up to 1400m when fourth at Horsham subsequently.
Archie Alexander’s representative shaped as if shorter would suit when fading having tracked the speed in a 1600m maiden at Hamilton when last in action just over two weeks ago.
The selection was beaten just under four lengths when racing on a heavy 8 track and better is expected having shown a liking for a sound surface last prep.
The booking of jockey Beau Mertens takes the eye here and his mount looks value to improve on his near 27% strike-rate (8/30) when riding at this venue.

Tatura Roughie - Race 5 No. 8 Factually
Trainer Charles Cassar has recorded top three finishes with six of his twelve representatives so far this season including with three of his last four runners.
The daughter of The Factor performed well at Benchmark 58 handicap level when delivering a victory over this distance on a good 4 track at Echuca at the start of May.
The mare has made just two subsequent starts with the first of those seeing her race close to the speed when finishing runner-up in a similar race to this here just under three weeks later.
The pick had a valid excuse having jumped from a wide barrier when down the field on Ballarat’s synthetic track subsequently and she was spelled following that effort.
While the six-year-old has yet to win first up she has placed third twice from three starts when returning from a spell including at Bendigo in December last year.
An inside barrier is a positive here with apprentice Lauren Burke taking a valuable two-kilograms off the mares back.

Tatura Best Bet - Race 7 No. 5 Innocent Moves
Nick Ryan’s mare is often slowly away and as a result she is regularly ridden from off the pace including in both starts this prep.
The five-year-old finished with purpose when beaten less than three lengths into fifth when contesting a 1212m Benchmark 58 handicap at Geelong first up.
The mare raced on a good 4 track that day and followed that up by filling the same position when beaten just under four lengths over 1300m at Wodonga two weeks ago.
The daughter of Supido shaped as if she was ready for the extra distance she tackles here when jumping from barrier five that day.
The selection has underfoot conditions to suit here having gone well on the forecast good 4 surface in the past.
Jockey Rhys McLeod, on board last time out teamed up with the pick to score in a 1200m maiden at Kilmore last October and the pair can register their second win together in this contest.

Tatura Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 11 Undaunting
The daughter of Almanzor failed to shine in her first two starts this prep including when tenth over 1300m at Bendigo first up.
The pick contested a 1300m Benchmark 64 handicap that day and notably was racing on a wet track, a heavy 8, for the first time in her career.
The four-year-old raced at metro level when having to race wide and without cover before fading when last of eleven at Sandown subsequently.
A switch to frontrunning tactics appeared to suit returning to Bendigo for a Restricted 64 handicap when last in action last month.
The selection raced on a good 4 surface over 1500m when beaten less than half-a-length having jumped from a wide barrier on that occasion.
The New Zealand-bred filly has fared better with regard to barrier allocation here and having been freshened since her latest effort she is taken to go one better with Teodore Nugent set to ride.
