Tatura Best Bet - Race 2 No. 1 Coffin Dodger
The four-year-old demonstrated plenty of ability in his first two starts racing including when runner-up over 1200m at Bairnsdale on debut in April.
The selection raced from mid-division when racing on a good 4 track on that occasion and filled the same position dropped back to 1105m for his second start.
The gelding showed improved form in finishing half-a-length second when again encountering a good 4 surface at Sale in that 1105m contest.
The pick raced prominently having jumped from barrier six at Sale and while he failed to shine there subsequently that latest effort marked his first outing on a wet track.
The booking of Thomas Stockdale, on board for the first of the two Sale efforts mentioned takes the eye here.
The return to a forecast sound surface is a further positive favour and while barrier thirteen isn’t ideal he looks up to overcoming that following a win in a Cranbourne barrier trial August 26.

Tatura Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 3 Make It Sweet
The four-year-old performed well in placing three times prior to breaking her maiden by a length in a 1600m contest at Bendigo in March.
The pick raced on a good 4 track that day but softer conditions have proven no problem in winning twice from as many starts this prep.
The first of those victories saw the daughter of Fiorente triumph in a ten-runner 1300m Class 1 handicap held on a soft 5 track at Wagga just under a month ago.
Craig Weeding’s filly raced towards the rear on that occasion but was ridden closer to the speed when overcoming a slow start to follow up over 1400m at the same venue subsequently.
The selection won by half-a-length when contesting a Benchmark 66 handicap held on a heavy 9 surface last time and the quicker going here is no issue.
Regular rider Jake Duffy is again set to ride and his mount is taken to complete a four-timer jumping from barrier nine.
Bet365 Tatura Cup Sat Nov 23 Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Tatura Roughie - Race 8 No. 8 Toronova
The six-year-old recorded his fourth win when springing a $31 surprise in a 1600m event on the synthetic track at Pakenham four starts back.
While the gelding has failed to shine in three subsequent starts including twice over the same course and distance it’s of note that he has been racing at a higher level.
Ian Pankhurst’s gelding returns to Benchmark 58 level for the first time since that Pakenham triumph while the good 4 track forecast should be no issue having won on a sound surface in the past.
A wide alley may be more of an issue but with limited pace inside him Paul Gatt should be able to get across from barrier twelve to race close to or just behind the speed.
The selection missed a race at Cranbourne recently to head here and he may prove capable of delivering his second surprise win this prep.
Bet365 Never Ordinary Handicap Tips (Race 9)
Tatura Value Bet - Race 9 No. 9 Prudden
The six-year-old is a winner this prep having taken out a 1200m Restricted 58 handicap at Warracknabeal three starts back.
The gelding came home over two-and-a-half-lengths clear of his rivals when racing on a soft 7 track that day and has recorded solid efforts on both subsequent starts.
The first of those saw him beaten less than a length into fourth in a similar race to this over 1200m at Geelong just over a month ago.
The pick backed that up when filling the same position in being beaten just under two-and-a-half-length over the same course and distance two weeks later.
Both of those efforts came on a good 4 track including when keen last time out and he has a good barrier two from the rail here.
Jake Duffy knows the gelding well having won on him at Warracknabeal and partnered him in the first of the two Geelong efforts mentioned his mount looks value to record a win.
