The seven-year-old has placed on the forecast soft 5 going in the interim period when a length second in a similar contest two starts later.
Jack Bruce’s gelding was freshened prior to finishing a good fourth over in inadequate 1666m in a Benchmark 78 handicap last month.
A wide alley shouldn’t be an issue here given the son of Reliable Man is usually ridden from off the pace with the step up to 2200m a positive in this event.
Connections scratched from a race at Doomben on Wednesday to head here and that decision can pay dividends racing off a low weight.

The seven-year-old was beaten just under two lengths when fourth in a 1000m Benchmark 75 handicap on a soft 5 track that day.
The gelding, who likes to race close to the speed jumped from a wide alley when fifth over 1200m here subsequently and he acquitted himself well in the circumstances.
The selection is worth another attempt at this distance having returned lame on his only previous attempt at this trip in October last year.
An inside barrier is a positive here as is Melea Castle’s three-kilogram claim and the pair may prove up to surprising in this event.

The four-year-old has demonstrated improvement with racing this prep finishing in the first two in both starts since resuming with a ninth at Rosehill in June.
The colt was beaten just under seven lengths when contesting a 1300m Benchmark 72 handicap held on a heavy 8 track at Rosehill.
Racing in Brisbane appears to suit with the son of Trapeze Artist delivering an improved effort when a close second in a 1350m Benchmark 85 handicap at Doomben two weeks later.
Racing on a soft 6 track that day Gary Portelli’s representative finished strongly and he was ridden closer to the speed when going one better over the same course and distance subsequently.
The selection had a couple of her rivals here in Deepour (second) and Irish Songs (fourth) behind her that day and she is expected to confirm that form in this event.
With just eight runners in the field the pick should be able to get out and get across to race prominently with Cejay Graham set to ride.

Trainer Matthew Hoysted boasts a strong hand in this field with the filly the pick here having won each of her last three starts.
All three of those victories have come over this course and distance including by five lengths in a maiden held on a soft 7 track at the start of February.
The selection was spelled following that effort and resumed with a victory by just under half-a-length when racing on a soft 5 surface here in June.
While the four-year-old raced at Benchmark 58 level that day she proved that she can be effective at a higher level when saluting off a low weight in an open handicap on a heavy 9 surface subsequently.
The filly jumped from barrier nine when racing first up this prep and she has again been allocated barrier nine in this contest.
Ryan Maloney’s mount arrives trialled with a close second at Doomben recently and she is selected to complete a four-timer.
