In his home town Cup, he had to settle last from a wide gate and made a lot of ground late to finish fifth, 1.5 lengths behind the smart Bandersnatch, which was run in record time.
Edit was then polaxed when the claiming apprentice was trying to take an inside run that didn't eventuate and was no chance after that, so completely forgive the run.
Leading apprentice Kyle Wilson-Taylor takes the reins here and should position him in the second half of the field again.

He's got an impeccable first up record (4:3-1-0) and looks a great chance to add to that after an easy trial win at Doomben on June 7.
That 840m hitout was the fastest of the day and Kingston's Here wasn't given too hard a time of it.
The consistent grey has five wins and four seconds from 12 starts, with three of those victories being over this 1200m dash.
Apprentice Jaden Lloyd claims 1.5kg, which brings him down to a luxury weight 53.5kg and he should get a nice sit behind the leaders.

Sunshine Coast Roughie - Race 5 No. 10 Minks Star
Two starts back, Minks Star was on the heels of impressive winner Stroll, back in fourth place.
She did finish second in a listed event behind Exo Lady earlier this season and returned serve, beating that filly home in that Stroll encounter.
That form lines up well here and jockey Stephanie Thornton, will just need to pull out her best work from the draw.
Back in grade, she represents good each-way value in a field that lacks a standout.

Double R Group - Winx Guineas Tips (Race 7)
Sunshine Coast Feature Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Battleton
This son of Zoustar has had the best lead up for the this feature, with placings in the Fred Best and Gunsynd at this same Group 3 level.
In both of those runs, Battleton wasn't far behind Kiss Sum, who looks to be a horse on the up and a potential spring contender.
In the Spring, he ran second to the brilliant Mazu and fifth in the Group 1 Coolmore behind Home Affairs.
He hasn't been knocked about by a long campaign and Nash Rawiller should be able to give him a nice run just off the speed.
