Seymour Tips June 16

Godolphin Lifetime Care Maiden Plate Tips (Race 4)

Seymour Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 3 Dazzling Sky

Trainer Tony Noonan has his string in good form with his stable boasting a 33% strike-rate (4/12) in the last 30 days.

The handler’s representative here recorded a good third when beaten just over one-and-a-half-lengths in an 1112m maiden at Sale last month.

The pick contested a five-runner maiden on a soft 5 track and encountered similar underfoot conditions when fifth over 1300m at Bendigo subsequently.

The three-year-old delivered a solid effort when beaten less than three lengths on that occasion.

The selection caught the eye in doing his best work late on Bendigo with the son of Sooboog shaping as if the step up in distance he gets here would suit.

An inside barrier is a further positive in this contest and with apprentice Dakotah Keane taking two kilograms off her mount is selected to get off the mark at the fourth attempt.

Seymour Value Bet - Race 5 No. 5 Shrewsbury Road

The gelding demonstrated solid form at maiden level in Ireland last year placing second twice.

The first of those victories came on a soft 6 track in a nineteen-runner 2012m contest at The Curragh in September.

The son of Sea The Stars followed that up with a runner-up finish in a 2112m maiden on the synthetic track at Dundalk the following month.

The selection found only a subsequent Group 1 fourth too good in that Dundalk contest and he drops back in distance here.

The four-year-old has shown up well in his jump outs following up a win over 800m with a second over 1100m at Werribee.

The soft 7 track expected for this contest shouldn’t pose any issues with the gelding boasting a good barrier five from the role.

Blaike McDougall rides here and his mount looks value to get off the mark on his first outing for trainer Simon Zahra.

Phil ‘docca’ Jarvis 80th BM64 Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Seymour Best Bet - Race 6 No. 12 Ausvardia

The GB-bred daughter of Australia showed good form in placing third in a couple of maidens in her first prep racing.

While beaten over five lengths on each occasion it’s notable that her rider lost his whip in the second of those efforts.

The switch to a wet track appeared to suit when the filly delivered a narrow margin success in a 1447m maiden held on a heavy 8 track at Geelong in June last year.

The selection was off for nearly eleven months following that effort and she resumed with a victory on a heavy 5 track at Ballarat May 26.

The four-year-old overcame a slow start to take a Benchmark 58 handicap that day and she looks ready for this step up in grade.

The pick represents the Archie Alexander stable and she looks up to helping him improve on his 50% strike-rate (3/6) here in the last year.

Kilmore Ford BM64 Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Seymour Roughie - Race 8 No. 2 Cadboll

The gelding won twice in 2023 including when successful by two-and-a-half-lengths when racing over 1100m at Horsham in October.

The pick raced on a good 4 track at Benchmark 58 level that day but has shown solid form on wet tracks in the past including when runner-up at Ballarat in December.

The five-year-old was beaten three-and-a-half-lengths in a Benchmark 70 handicap held on a soft 5 track when racing from the front that day and he was spelled subsequently.

Melody Cunningham has opted for a change of headgear here with blinkers replacing the winkers worn last year and they may sharpen the pick up.

While the most recent of those came in April the selection has won both jump outs this prep and has a good barrier two from the rail.

The son of Under The Louvre has gone well fresh in the past and he is selected to spring an upset.
