Carlton Draught 3yo Maiden Plate Tips (Race 2)
Seymour Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 3 Elegant Man
This isn't a strong maiden and with nice lead-up work ahead of his second campaign, Elegant Man can run a big race at an each-way quote, with the three-year-old returning as a gelding.
He should get over more ground in time (closely related to a Hong Kong Derby winner), although the 1300m is the ideal starting point, especially as he has tactical speed to use barrier three.
Elegant Man went to the line under a firm hold when second in a Tatura trial on November 27 and he followed that with a big win via at Bendigo, and that 800m jump-out was in decent time.

Seymour Value Bet - Race 3 No. 12 One Sided Love
She had shown potential ahead of her debut assignment at Ararat on November 27, where the filly was a notable drifter in the market and there's natural improvement to come here at start two.
One Sided Love found herself shuffled back in a field of seven over 1200m and when the sprint went on, the three-year-old was the first horse off the bridle, but she did balance up late.
A half-sister to Lunar Impact (WA Oaks winner), One Sided Love should appreciate the seven furlongs on Thursday and over this longer journey, she can into a better rhythm on the speed.
Prince Of Wales Seymour 0-64 Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Seymour Roughie - Race 6 No. 12 Pendante
It was hard to fault the first campaign from this Rod Symons-trained filly, who eventually got out to a trip at start four in June, where she broke through comfortably over the Bendigo mile.
While she wasn't disgraced when well held in fourth at Listed level following that, Pendante was at end of her prep when contesting that Flemington feature and she resumes here in a 0-64.
Returning over seven furlongs suggests there is some intent in this fresh outing and the winkers are back on for race day, with the three-year-old not wearing them in two quiet jump-outs.
Wine X Sam 0-64 Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Seymour Best Bet - Race 7 No. 1 Diesel
While he was a little unlucky when held up at stages, Diesel was still a tad plain at Moonee Valley last start and given his prior two second-up efforts, he might simply be a flat second-up horse.
A progressive four-year-old from the very astute Ben Brisbourne yard, the gelding could end up as a city-class galloper once the penny drops, although he is still learning the caper at present.
The drop back to country level is a positive third-up, and given his preference is to camp off the speed and then sprint hard late, a middle barrier here in a bigger field is another tick.
