Scone Best Bet - Race 1 No. 1 Kanalaide
Well placed by the step up to 1300m on Tuesday is this Australian Bloodstock gelding who was strong on debut at Armidale on May 25, finding the line well for fourth over 1100m.
Prepared by Cody Morgan, a trainer that is striking at close to 28% at Scone this season, Kanalaide was a little tardy away in that initial outing and balancing up late in the run home, it was as much his work after the line the line that was impressive.
With a better draw and suited by the bigger circuit here along with the extra furlong, this three-year-old has found a thin Maiden field and with expected improvement, this looks a great opportunity to get the breakthrough victory.

Scone Value Bet - Race 6 No. 14 Heredero
Two of his three career victories have come at Scone and via his last two efforts on this circuit, this gelding has been supported at longer odds and although never threatening, has got home from the rear of the field on both of those occasions.
The latest of those performances came via the June 1 meeting here, where after drawing a wide barrier again and being inconvenienced early in the run home, Heredero found the line well in an eventual midfield finish over the 1200m, suited now with the rise to 1300m.
Now from barrier six and with seemingly not as much speed on paper this time around, he is capable of settling closer early from this better draw under Jeff Penza and with that better run in transit, could go close here at a big each-way price.

Scone Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 6 Impulse Control
The query on resumption was the 1000m dash and that sprint journey at Port Macquarie just proved a little slick for this filly prior to her effort on that same circuit via the May 31 card, where he had no luck over the 1200m.
Drawing 11 of 13 was ultimately her undoing second-up, racing three-wide throughout that contest and while that understandably took her dash away late, this three-year-old was still withing two lengths of the winner on the line.
A half-sister to Listed winner Feminsa Fashion and from the same family as Group winners, Berezny and Lolita Star, Impulse Control was raw but showed clear ability in her first campaign and third-up from a good draw on Tuesday, she gets her chance.
