Sandown Tips for March 31
IVE > Print Handicap Tips (Race 3)
Sandown Value Bet - Race 3 No. 2 Madame Boitier
This filly is well over the odds, coming out of a strong race last start over an unsuitable trip, now straight up to the 1600m where she performed at this level last campaign.
Damien Oliver is back aboard, having ridden the horse twice for a narrow second placing and a win to finish off her last preperation.
I do believe we will see her ridden much closer than last start from the good draw (five) and possibly take a forward of midfield position which would be ideal.
Madame Bolter will improve this prep as she gets over a little futher likely next start or subsequent to that, but this looks an ideal race to play her on an each-way basis.
Ladbroke It Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Sandown Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 10 Comanche Brave
Julius Sandhu is firing at Sandown this season, striking at 33% the win and 50% the place, just showing his horses really adapt to the big track.
The other thing that boosts his stats are that a lot of his horses are leaders or sit on the pace, including Comanche Brave who is being tested at 2400m for the first time.
Comanche Brave was outclassed last start in the Alister Clark Stakes, but did run okay when having to work early at Moonee Valley the start prior.
He is the natural leader of the race and with plenty of horses here who like to sit of the leader, I have him mapped to get the front and run this at his own tempo, giving this colt. every chance to run out the trip.
Ladbrokes Blended Multi Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Sandown Best Bet - Race 8 No. 4 Pale King
This galloper is unbeaten from three starts to date, with a tenacity to win which is what I love most about a racehorse, when they do not want to be beaten.
He had come off a narrow win when a heavily suported favourite at Kembla Grange and proved a class above in 70 grade last start.
Pale King now comes up in trip to 1800m and up in class, so he gets in well with 57kg with Craig Williams on board.
He is by far the most progressive horse in this race, and although I do not believe he will get a lot further in trip, there is a touch of x-factor about him and of course is as tough as old boots.
