Ladbrokes Split Multi Handicap Tips (Race 3)
Sandown Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 9 Iowa Hawkeye
This is a strong benchmark 64, but on the Lakeside track with a soft trackexpected, we want to be on horses that can make their own luck somewhere near the speed which is exactly what this gelding will do.
He has been consistent this prep when runner-up two and three runs back, while finishing fourth last start in a handy race.
Iowa Hawkeye handles the sting out of the ground and although yet to win in the wet, he has placed four from seven attempts, including a third to Persan in May last year.
Barrier eight makes things a little awkward, but he has enough speed to cross early and the fitness from four runs in this prep to be tough early and maintain a margin late.

Sandown Best Bet - Race 7 No. 6 Johandough
This galloper broke through for a deserved win first-up after a string of placings last prep, sitting on the pace and running away on soft ground to win by almost four lengths.
She is race fit and after running out the 2000m so strongly last start, the 2100m poses no worries, especially from a soft gate.
Her main danger does look to be Fiorente Lass on form, but this girl has a tactical advantage over the latter which should be advantageous on the Lakeside circuit.
Craig Williams sticks and this is the time of year where we start to see him striking hot form, so it is better to hop on now before the market sees him as the best jockey in Victoria.
Ladbrokes Blended Multi Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Sandown Value Bet - Race 8 No. 7 Governor Landy
I tipped this six-year-old last start at $21, finishing second at $5 the place and again, bookies have paid next to no respect to him in the market, offering more than $3 the place.
Governor Landy makes his own luck somewhere near the speed and although is not a known winner, has not missed the top three in his last six runs, which included two deserved wins.
He is in career best form and is handling both good and soft tracks, so we do not want a heap of rain around to get this track into a soft seven or heavy eight range.
If we get the track at a Soft 6 or better, again, a 1x3 bet all day, every day on this consistent gelding.
