Sandown Tips for March 17

Ladbrokes Easy Form Handicap Tips (Race 2)

Sandown Best Bet - Race 2 No. 2 Curran

This gelding was strong last start behind a very good one from Tasmania over this track and trip when up on the pace.

Prior to that effort, Curran recorded a smart Maiden win at Pakenham over two nice horses, the third horse subsequently winning as well.

I feel that this race is not as strong on paper as what he faced last start outside of the favourite Litchfield County who is yet to be tested against something of city quality.

This three-year-old is open to improvement and with more race experience under the belt, I do believe he should be a little shorter in the market.

Ladbrokes Split Multi Handicap Tips (Race 4)

Sandown Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 5 Shandy

This mare came on in leaps and bounds last prep before probably taking too big of a leap in one prep, pulling up lame in the Naturalism.

She was a dominant winner over 1400m on the Hillside track last campaign before proving too tough at Moonee Valley for Thought Of That who we know is a useful galloper on his day.

Shandy issue coming into this race is her race pattern, having to settle out the back while Mystery Shot could run the race his own way out front on the Lakeside circuit, but I am counting on class to get her over the line.

She dominantly won a recent jumpout at Flemington, a strong heat at that, settling out the back before cutting up along the fence and blowing them away in a matter of strides.

The Big Screen Company Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Sandown Value Bet - Race 6 No. 2 Governor Landy

This gelding as been in incredible form this season, having six starts for two wins and four seconds, all in this grade.

Although this is probably one of the stronger 64 races he has faced in a while, the son of Reliable Man is runnin consistently well and looks very well in at the weights at 57.5kg after the 3kg claim from Harry Grace.

Last start he really pushed Ruler By Choice at Cranbourne who would not be without a hope in an event like this, just struggling to get past that talented galloper.

A horse in from and well in at the weights, Governor Landy looks well over the odds at around $17 and nearly $5 the place.
