Thoroughbred Club Handicap Tips (Race 2)
Sandown Best Bet - Race 2 No. 6 Derive
A change of tactics to be ridden on the pace seemed a positive for this daughter of Redoute's Choice last start when backed off the map on the Hillside circuit.
Now stepping out to the mile with Jamie Kah sticking aboard, she is drawn to get a beautiful smother in transit, even just a pair further back than what she got last start.
When team Ellerton & Zahra race with Kah in the saddle in metro grade, they are striking at nearly 30% for this season.
This looks another winnable race for a filly who got the confidence boosting win last start, and has now shown versatility in her racing pattern.

Sandown Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 10 Home Rule
This is a very smart galloper from the Maddie Raymond stable who was runner-up fresh before going for a spell and comfortably winning at Warrnambool when leading all the way.
Being by Rebel Raider and out of a sprinting Mare, this horse will get over further, but clearly has some of her dam's genes by winning over 1000m first-up.
With natural gate speed from gate five, Home Rule will kick forward and if not lead, she will get a beautiful sit behind Oxley Jack and Fixated.
1200m will not be an issue for the gelding, so with all the ticks in his favour, he goes on top as the next best bet of the day.

Sandown Value Bet - Race 8 No. 7 Imperial Lad
Imperial Lad is the natural go forward in the race and on the Lakeside circuit, it is never an issue to be on the pace.
Four runs back this prep after a gelding operation have all been fantastic, kicking off with a win here when beating subsequent winner Knowles, before placing behind Second Slip (very progressive) and Regardsmaree (gone to another level).
Last start he was only just reeled in on the Hillside track by Merchant Of Venice, but did beat the city performed Alburq in the same race.
He is as consistent as anything, yet they are still giving more than even money the place, so he clearly stands out as a value bet of the day.
