Sandown Best Bet - Race 2 No. 9 Rising Sphere
This three-year-old gelding from the Phillip Stokes stable backed up his second placing behind subsequent city winner Dickin Medal with a win over Tycoon Bucks.
The rail that day was a cutaway and he was left in front a long way from home, so he did well to keep pushing through the line.
He clearly is a horse who is going to reach Saturday grade, and this just looks another step for a classy horse on the way through.
The Stokes stable are on fire, and with the Lakeside rail out seven metres, they will struggle to run down this natural on-pace horse.

Sandown Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 1 Typhoon Harmony
This four-year-old Gelding from the in-form Gelagotis stable was very good at Lakeside last start, sitting on the pace and proving really gutsy to the line to go down by under a half-length.
With the rail out seven metres, he should be able to find the front over the 1500m and have it his own way in front.
Typhoon Harmony comes back in grade from what he faced last start, now only rising in weight .5kg, but now gets a 3kg claim from Will Price, making him drop 2.5kg overall from last start.
Will is a great rider, especially when he can find the front on a horse that will roll for him.

Sandown Value Bet - Race 6 No. 9 Just As Soon
This daughter of Just a Way was a big drifter last start at Sale, seemingly looking for air around the bend after a cozy run on the pace, but really extending over the final 100m, seemingly wanting more ground.
That run was first-up from a six-month spell, so he did well over the extended 1732m.
Now finding himself up to the 2100m and with the rail out seven metres, we can expect him to cross from a wide alley and repeat similar tactics to what we saw last start.
Jye McNeil stays aboard and if he can get a soft time somewhere near the pace, he may be able to dictate and bring the margin a little closer to Night Passage than what we saw last start.
What time is the first race at Sandown?
