Rosehill is one of the two main Sydney racecourses which hosts meetings all-year round and stages feature programs in the autumn which includes Golden Slipper Day, one of the biggest cards on the Australian racing calendar.

Our Rosehill best bets are provided by expert form analysts and tipsters, with free betting tips available right here.

Rosehill Tips March 27

Selections: 6,5,7,8.

Fit and bringing Group One form to opener on Golden Slipper Day is 1. PRAGUE who produced arguably the run of the Eskimo Prince Stakes when sustaining a wide effort from the rear before his Newmarket Handicap attempt when rattling home for fourth. That was down in the weights but he is back against the three-year-old's here although he did draw better last week.

On a good track, you'd be brave suggesting 6. Isotope wasn't the best horse in this field and while she's comfortably saluted twice on Soft 5 surfaces, a Heavy 8-9 is a completely different proposition albeit it is now in the Soft 7 range. She produced two sensational performances before Ryan Maloney fell in the Magic Millions. Have to respect.

Keen to see what 5. Private Eye does in his first stakes race. A real punters pal over the summer period and a winner of his last five starts overall, the son of Al Maher has won on every surface from a Good 4 to a Heavy 8. There's been no public trials since his January 26 victory here at Rosehill.

7. Bella Nipotina is starting to deserve the non-winner's tag but is hard fit and still racing very consistently. She's arguably a little more effective on a wet track and at $31 via bet365, is at least worth thought for the exotics.

Race 2 - 1:10PM XXXX N E MANION CUP Tips (2400 METRES)

Selections: 13,8,7,3.

One of the key Sydney Cup lead-up events but a very open race, especially given the best wet trackers are badly out of form aside from Dadoozdart who is going well enough but maybe a risk at this trip against a few classier stayers? Not sure what to make of this but have landed on 13. FAVORITE MOON, the stable mate to Addeybb. Lightly raced and with less convictions than these, he should be still on an upwards spiral.

The Australian debut of 8. Collide was a definite pass mark despite finding the 2000m a little slick on top of the ground and peaked late on that effort. Was never matching the turn-of-foot of Mount Popa (Mornington Cup winner) in that scenario but a testing 2400m should suit.

7. Sacramento was denied a fourth straight victory when reeled in by Mount Popa and is clearly the form runner of this field despite getting deep into the campaign now. There were excuses in last year's Derby, his only Heavy track attempt and he's clearly a much better horse now. The market looks likely to tell the story.

Certainly respect any late betting moves for 3. Nickajack Cave, an import having his first start for Peter Moody. A Listed and Group Three winner via his last two outings in Europe, he wouldn't need to be a world beater to salute here fresh.

Selections: 7,5,9,4.

Following an outstanding return in the Millie Fox  the Aspiration Stakes did look there for the taking with 7. SHE'S IDEEL, especially with the scratching of Nimalee and despite looking as though she'd overcome the slow speed, the wide run to get into that contest just told late, where the daughter of Dundeel was beaten a pimple. Third-up, wet track and getting up in trip, this looks about hers to lose with any improvement. Best of the day on a tough card.

5. Polly Grey has surprisingly still not managed an Australian win, despite a string of very competitive performances over two campaigns now,  including a slashing return behind Nimalee first-up with Yao Dash franking that form last week. Clearly a much more effective mare on a wet track, she looks the most likely threat to the favourite.

Felt this race fell away a bit after those two, with a bunch of these otherwise capable on their day, albeit many are hard to catch. One of those is 9. Attention Run who goes first-up into this and has won two of four fresh attempts with both of those victories coming on heavy tracks. Her most recent trial was quite good.

4. Aliferous is a hard runner to catch but was only a few lengths away in this race last autumn and there's much less depth to this, compared to the Coolmore Classic she contested second-up. She has top three/four claims at a big price ($20.00 @ Sportsbet).

Race 4 - 2:25PM RANVET STAKES Tips (2000 METRES)

Selections: 6,1,8,7.

A seven-time Group One winner that has developed into a world class galloper after having her faults early days and on rain-affected ground, 6. VERRY ELLEEGANT is comfortably the best middle-distance runner in the country. Returned to winning form in a tough Chipping Norton Stakes and given the star mare is deeper into a preparation, she's the safer way to go in the Ranvet.

It's hard to really knock or be heavily with 1. Addeybb, who got the better of her in a stirring edition of this race last year, but it really is a take on trust prospect given he has only been working at the quiet surrounds of Canterbury, with no public trials and there's no doubt Verry Elleegant has improved. It looks a great clash irrespective.

Including 8. Miami Bound in the exotics at a monster price ($61.00 @ bet365), who was the only runner in that Australian Cup to break 34 seconds for the last 600m (33.72) and one of only two to better 23 seconds for the last 400m (22.66) before completing the fastest last furlong. She's not without top three or four claims.

While respecting 7. Colette back on to a wet track, conditions she needs to be winning at this level but at around $6, is certainly short enough in what is clearly the deepest race she's contested.

Selections: 3,15,11,1

The blinkers went on 3. MO'UNGA for the first time in the Randwick Guineas in what was the biggest of all eye-catching performances from the son of Savabeel there, where after being blocked for a run early in the straight, was forced to come off the rail and switch all the way out to the middle lanes, where he hasn't balanced up until the 50m before launching late. Is better suited by barrier six this week (had two last Saturday) yet we're getting a better price.

Although the last 600m times don't quite back it up, that return performance from 15. Montefilia was visually much better to that of Hungry Heart's, a frustrating galloper who managed to peak off that outing when winning last Saturday's Phar Lap Stakes. She's a dual Group One winner, so has the runs on the board.

The best value in the 2021 Rosehill Guineas is with 11. Sky Lab ($11.00 @ BlueBet) who brings different form lines to this three-year-old feature. Just whether he has the required turn-of-foot is the query but he's one that's suited by a wider draw this week.

1. Lions Roar rattled off some fast splits to record an upset win at 25/1 in the Randwick Guineas and prevailed on a Heavy deck via his debut. He was short enough last week but is finding his right price now at close to $8.

Selections: 2,6,13,9.

A three-time Group One winner and a consistent weight-for-age performer, last spring for 2. AVILIUS was geared towards the big cups in Melbourne and he should've gone very close in the Caulfield Cup but was inconvenienced. It took all of the fighting qualities of Verry Elleegant and Colette to hold Avilius off in the Chipping Norton Stakes, a feature he briefly looked to have won before peaking ever so slightly on the run late. Goes on top in an open contest.

A decent field was assembled for the Newmarket Handicap and while there were queries with this 6. GEM SONG second-up off a lengthy lay-off, it mattered not where despite being a little tardy away and held-up briefly, he managed to prevail. Heavy track an unknown but is going better than most of these and is decent odds ($21.50 @ Sportsbetting).

13. Funstar hasn't won in over 12 months and has been a bookies favourite since then, seemingly not progressing since her three-year-old season. That Chipping Norton form can't be ignored, however and all five career victories have come on soft or heavy tracks.

9. Dalasan is hot or cold and although can't be fully trusted, he has genuine weight-for-age form from the spring with runs behind Verry Eleegant, Russian Camelot and Behemoth that would be good enough to win this at long odds ($26.00 @ Neds).

Selections: 2,13,3,16.

While the impressive Inglis Millenium winner 2. PROFITEER had his unbeaten run ended in the Todman Stakes, he certainly lost no admirers when only reeled in late. that was the test against the stronger juveniles that he needed, and arriving to that last outing a month between runs, was entitled to be vulnerable late, especially rafter racing a little keenly. The son of Capitalist is the one they'll need to catch with a little more improvement predicted.

13. Four Moves Ahead was a sensational debut winner on the Kensington circuit back on January 2 and then a subsequent trial winner following a freshen-up which had this filly was installed as the Silver Slipper favourite, a race she was then scratched from off a minor injury. Class prevailed seven days later and she may set for a new peak here.

Will 3. Artotius be the best horse to come out of the 2021 Golden Slipper? Potentially, but the massive unknown is how this big and strapping colt will handle a wet track. The Blue Diamond form is holding up this year and he does ooze class.

Following an outstanding debut win, 16. Queen Of Wizardry runs a clear second in the Magic Millions if it weren't for two rivals falling into her lap in the straight. Probably more a Sires/Champagne prospect but is one with a strong turn-of-foot that can arrive late at a rough quote ($101.00 @ bet365).

Selections: 4,7,9,12.

Still a lightly raced five-year-old but the clock is ticking for 4. HAUT BRION HER who barring here and perhaps a Sangster tilt in Adelaide, may not see many more Group One opportunities. She was very brave in the last year's Everest as the only on-speed runner to really stick on when close up behind Gytrash and Bivouac and defeated home the likes of Nature Strip, Behemoth, Eduardo etc, which are the best sprinting references in the country.

Sent for a spell and with the blinkers going on for his return run in the McCarten Stakes, it was by far the best performance we've seen from 7. Easy Eddie in a long time who has come up with a soft draw and handles all conditions. It may be the right time to strike at a fair quote ($18.00 @ Palmerbet).

Meeting Eduardo 4kg better off from the Challenge Stakes is 9. Splintex who could be on his way to a peak performance here given the good second-up record and from two attempts on Heavy tracks, he's unbeaten. Doesn't have the class at WFA level but under Handicap conditions, it gives him a sniff at a decent price ($26.00 @ betstar).

12. Tailleur hasn't done enough to warrant Group One favouritism for mine but with a drop to a 1100m on a heavy track, she's obviously a contender with just 51kg on her back. Is yet finish outside the top two in eight career outings.

Selections: 4,13,14,7.

A super consistent mare, 4. WANDABAA recorded a string of placings at Stakes level via the back-end of her last campaign after working through lower grades. Off two excellent trials, her March 13 return when recording the fastest last 200m/600m of that McCarten Stakes was brilliant, finishing that off with real intent. With a horror gate, we'll need to see how the track is playing but if they can blend in out wider, then she's a good each-way bet to end program.

13. I Am Eloquent is unbeaten in two Heavy 10 attempts, so a bottomless surface is when she thrives. A listed winning and group-placed mare, she has trialled up well in readiness for this return. Felt she was better suited last week from a low draw but is still a live chance at a big quote ($21.00 @ TopSport).

I'm a little surprised about the early odds available ($26.00 @ bookmaker.com.au) for 14. Wayupinthesky, who has a win and a second from both Heavy track attempts. The daughter of Snitzel just didn't quite come up in the spring but put in a much-improved showing when rattling home as runner-up fresh. Draws for a soft run and the conditions give her a sniff at this level.

After backing her at 25/1 first-up, we unfortunately had to finish for an honest second with 7. Seasons who is again a fair price ($12.00 @ PlayUp). She should've gone close to beating Haut Brion Her second-up last campaign, which is certainly good enough form for this. While it was nearly three years ago, she has a 3.3 length Heavy 9 win to her name.
