Pinjarra Best Bet - Race 3 No. 13 Cosmic Eclipse

Connections have taken their time with Cosmic Eclipse, a filly who has always shown potential at the trials, but she was a little green throughout 2023 and was in/out as a result.

The three-year-old arrives to Thursday's debut assignment off a Lark Hill trial win on March 25 and on a strong morning, that 950m heat rated quite well for maiden class.

The famous partnership of Williams and Pike (career strike rate of 29%) team up with the daughter of Deep Field, who is well placed to breakthrough in what looks a thin maiden.

Hygain Maiden Tips (Race 4)

Pinjarra Roughie - Race 4 No. 5 Percussion Prince

It was a solid debut effort at Belmont last September, where the gelding recorded the second fastest last 200m of a five furlong maiden that's produced four subsequent winners.

Percussion Prince was then spelled after tiring late when settling on the speed at start two and despite being specked at a price, he was never in contention first-up at Pinjarra.

While he went down narrowly as well backed fav last start at Narrogin, he continued to fight back after being taken on by a 100/1 chance and that rival finished nine lengths last.

SMB Electrical Tips (Race 6)

Pinjarra Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 4 Capre Omnia

The right call has been made to scratch from Ascot on Wednesday and while that was a Class 3, there's very little depth to this provincial Class 5 and he carries 3kg less second-up.

He had worked nicely via two lead-up trials ahead of his WA debut and after looming into the race well, Capre Omnia just peaked on his run late, so there's improvement to come.

Along with stripping fitter from that March 20 effort, the son of Headwater maps for a softer run from an inside alley and he was second-up maiden winner in his last Victorian prep.

Fashions On The Field 21 April Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Pinjarra Value Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Lieutenant Dunbar

From a wide draw and with no winning first-up form to his name, Lieutenant Dunbar was a notable drifter on return at Ascot and he was never in contention via that return attempt.

Nothing has gone his way in two subsequent outings, with the four-year-old covering ground on each occasion and he's down grade here fourth-up after his latest performance.

The gelding gets some relief after the 1.5kg claim from Luke Campbell and while he's unproven at 1400m, this is a much kinder set-up from barrier one in a race with less tempo.
