PINJARRA PARK PREMIER TRAINER BRETT POPE MAIDEN Tips (Race 5)
Pinjarra Best Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Bentley Beau
The wide draw is the obvious query, however, with Freedomofthepress and Prepare For Change the only other two likely to push forward, I'll bank on Peter Knuckey taking the early initiative to either settle in the first two or take a trail off them.
This otherwise looks to be the perfect third-up assignment for Bentley Beau, who showed glimpses of potential in his first preparation and has clearly improved this time in, running into a pair of progressive winners in the process and this does look a little easier.
Spending plenty of petrol early when stepping up to the mile on July 29, that effort was excellent under the circumstances when only reeled in by Cheerful Moment who does look handy, and he did have more than three lengths to spare on third.

Pinjarra Value Bet - Race 7 No. 4 Fire Maker
While he hasn't found the form from last autumn/early winter which saw that campaign culminate in a few fair efforts in town, the August 11 run when reeling off the fastest last 600m of his six-furlong event suggested this veteran may be back on track.
Behind a top three which consisted of Jag The Joker, Ohbeeh and Fa'lion Maschine, all Saturday class gallopers, this certainly is a little easier and Fire Maker only goes up half a kilo off that performance, while he does always take a few runs to hit his straps.
A nine-year-old with a very good record up the Pinjarra straight (three wins from seven attempts), this may be a little set play in giving him a 1300m and a 1200m hit out to start the campaign, then come back to more favourable conditions now he's fitter.

Pinjarra Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 3 Sun Chacen
After showing some promise early, albeit not delivering, this gelding managed to breakthrough at start 10 last December and is looking to follow a similar pattern here following a good return run on July 22 at Pinjarra.
Sun Chacen didn't exactly beat a field of walkers in that first victory either, with multiple winners coming out of that Bunbury contest including Graceful Girl who bolted in at Listed level in June, nd she looks a smart type going forward.
The five-year-old won a seven-furlong Class 3 deeper into that campaign, so a testing 1200m second-up should suit off that eye-catching fresh performance and from barrier five here, he should tuck in for a nice trail off the speed under Joe Azzopardi.
