The son of Fiorente won two of four starts in his first preparation which culminated in victory via the Listed Aquanita Stakes in July last year, a strong performance as he was challenged in the run home, but his staying prowess shone through late in proceedings.
Despite finding a hard run 1400m too slick fresh, the return effort was a definite pass mark and second-up, loomed ominously with a wide and searching run, but in the process, gave a perfect tow into it for the winner who had a better turn-of-foot at a mile, but Cousin Ivan whacked away well and had a good margin on the rest of the field.

Dropping in grade and now hard fit with four runs under his belt this summer, it's well and truly D-day for this Playing God via the fourth from Pinjarra and gets another chance given he was completely luckless on January 23.
A well supported favourite ($3.30-$2.70) on that occasion, Comfort Me was bolting on the back of the leader who was setting a slow speed up front but in the sprint home and with no clear passage, he was badly held-up until the 100m and only saw daylight when it was all over.
He is likely to land in the box-seat which potentially brings the same problems, however, this gelding drops 1kg for an easier assignment courtesy of the Madi Derrick claim and with clean this time around, does look the one beat in the weakest field he's faced in some time.

Off a very quiet trial, it was expected that he would need the run first-up but the market very nearly got it wrong, with this five-year-old sprouting wings from the rear and in another few strides, he would've won that 1200m affair on Janaury 23 at Ascot.
With a race fastest last 600m of 35.12, the clock supported that fresh effort of Proconsent, a very consistent five-year-old who has recorded five wins and three placings from 15 career starts while from three outings at Pinjarra, he's won two and was runner-up in the other start, when spotting a massive 7.5kg to the winner.
This is quite a competitive line-up but dropping 3kg and getting the services of a senior jockey is a tick while as a runner with tactical versatility, Shaun O'Donnell has options early from barrier four aboard this Robert Harvey-trainer runner, who has a win and a second from both second-up attempts to date.

A big plunge was landed on Kalgoorlie Cup Day last year with this galloper who trailed the early leader Bosnipp, an opponent that was setting a good clip up front and although that looked to leave him vulnerable to the off-speed chasers, he clicked into gear late and powered away for a strong victory.
He was tipped out following that win and trialled up well in his first public hit-out ahead of this campaign behind the handy Last Of The Line (won his last two) and it's worth noting the blinkers now go on for race day, a gear change that resulted in a big heat win on January 11, so it's an alteration the Fernie stable have been keeping up their sleeves.
No knock on the credentials of the favourite Gemma's Son, who is the class runner and under Set Weights conditions, meets Iseered Iseered 2.5kg better off at the weights from that January 23 clash, but there was a safe margin in this gelding's favour and he's certainly open to improvement in this target race.
