MANDURAH STOCKFEEDS MAIDEN Tips (Race 3)
Pinjarra Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 4 Free Solo
With three winners and two placings from six starters at Pinjarra this season, astute trainer Stephen Miller is generally around the mark and he'll be looking to add another success on Thursday via this this three-year-old who is much better placed back to Provincial Maiden grade.
By Bradbury's Luck and out of a Listed winning miler in Creatrix, Free Solo has been building through this first campaign well where after a runner-up finish on New Year's Day, was honest albeit well held for fourth via a Set Weights three-year-old event at Ascot on January 9, where he just didn't have the turn-of-foot to let down earlier off a slow tempo set up front.
At 35.15, he's still managed to nearly equal the last 600m of the runner-up Tamora, a galloper who had bolted in on debut the start prior and now with that mile run under his belt, does look the one to beat versus a line-up that lacks depth.

BUNBURY APARTMENT MOTEL HANDICAP Tips (Race 7)
Pinjarra Value Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Stocktaka
Having now his second run for the Ashley Maley stable is this ex-Victorian who although wasn't quite up to Melbourne standard, should be winning races in the west, especially from a very low rating and he will strip fitter from the fresh outing here on January 6.
While that midfield finish was only an even performance to the eye when just holding his ground in the run home, it was a similar effort to the first-up return in May last year at Sandown, an attempt he bounced off well when hitting the line well second-up at Ballarat, beating Mr Tipla in the process, a galloper that is rated well above anything in this field.
Stocktaka looks likely to improve as the distances increase a little further, but with Western Australia's leading rider for this season in Chris Parnham now taking reins on this son of Tavistock, he's an each-way hope on Thursday from gate three, where they should be looking to land in the first few pairs on settling.
