Beraldo Coffee 3yo Maiden Plate Tips (Race 2)
Pakenham Best Bet - Race 2 No. 1 Act Natural
The Royal Meeting gelding has performed well in finishing runner-up in all three previous starts.
Those starts include a two-and-a-half-length defeat when racing on a good 4 track over this course and distance early last month.
The pick was ridden from mid-division on that day and was ridden closer to the speed when beaten less than a length on a soft 5 surface at Sale subsequently.
Phillip Stokes’ representative raced over 1210m on a soft 5 track at Sale and a slight softening of the going from the forecast good 4 would be no issue here.
Daniel Stackhouse, set to ride here and on board for both of those efforts was again up when the gelding lost out by a narrow margin over 1300m at Sandown earlier this month.
The return to country-level racing is a positive and dropping back down to 1200m the youngster looks capable of breaking his maiden at the fourth attempt.

Pakenham Value Bet - Race 3 No. 9 Runchickenrun
A cheap purchase at just $2,000 when going through the ring at the Inglis December Online Sale 2021 the filly made a highly promising debut at Hamilton in October.
Racing from the rear of mid-division having missed the break she kept on nicely to take third in an 1100m maiden held on a good 4 track.
The four-year-old had recorded some decent efforts in her jumpouts before that debut effort and she is expected to have improved for that debut experience.
The form of that Hamilton contest is working out well enough with a number of her rivals that day going on to win subsequently.
The daughter of Shamus Award was spelled following her Hamilton debut, and she has shown up well in winning a couple of jumpout’s at Geelong since returning to training.
The selection should appreciate the step up in distance she gets here and she looks value to break through for her first win.

Pakenham Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 5 Trangoojahray
The four-year-old demonstrated ability in two starts at Seymour for her previous trainer including when debuting with a fourth over 1200m in April last year.
However, the daughter of Grunt has demonstrated marked improvement since switching to the Enver Jusufovic stable winning on both starts for the handler.
The first of those saw her deliver a two-length victory when contesting a 1200m maiden held on a good 3 track at Cranbourne in January.
The filly was given a short break following that effort going on to face previous winners for the first time in a 1400m Restricted 62 handicap at this track two weeks ago.
The pick went on to deliver a comfortable success by just under a length when racing under the lights here that night and she shaped as if there would be more to come upped in distance.
Barrier seven shouldn’t pose an issue in this race and she looks up to continuing her winning run with Carleen Hefel retaining the ride.
