Pakenham Best Bet - Race 3 No. 6 Under My Thumb
Ben, JD & Will Hayes’ horses are running well in the main of late and their representative here returns from a spell having placed in all three starts in her first prep.
Two of those starts came at Geelong including when beaten a length into second over 1112m at the track on her racecourse debut.
A half-length defeat when occupying the same finishing position stepped up to 1240m followed with both of those efforts coming on a good 4 track.
The selection again encountered a good 4 surface when placing third over 1200m at Cranbourne with the fifth and sixth that day both registering wins subsequently.
The Bel Esprit filly has shown up well in her two trials this prep including when seeing off nine rivals over 900m at Echuca last week.
Michael Dee, on board for all three previous starts is again set to ride and with headgear applied for the first time his mount looks up to breaking through for her first win.

Pakenham Roughie - Race 5 No. 1 Kentucky Nick
The son of American Pharoah has just two wins to his name however it’s of note that the both of those victories have come over this distance.
The five-year-old showed up well when fifth over 1606m at Benalla first up this prep before breaking through for a three-and-a-half-length victory at Seymour in October.
The selection contested a Benchmark 64 handicap that day and has been competing at a higher level in the main since then.
The exception came when a close third, beaten less than half-a-length in a 2200m handicap at Donald in November.
While the pick proved a disappointment over 1800m at Burrumbeet last time out he was racing at Benchmark 78 level that day and gets a welcome drop in grade.
Harry Coffey, on board for the first time since Seymour takes the ride and with the distance and underfoot conditions to suit the pair are taken to score their second win together.

Pakenham Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 3 Street Elite
The five-year-old has been in good form without winning this prep placing in five of his six starts this season.
Those efforts include a second on the synthetic track here first up with his four subsequent placings all coming in metro events.
Robbie Griffiths’ sprinter has placed down the straight at Flemington in each of his last two starts with both of those efforts coming over the 1200m distance he tackles here.
The selection was beaten one-and-a-half-lengths on that occasion having previously been beaten just under two lengths when filling the same position over the same track and trip.
The drop to Benchmark 64 level is in the gelding’s favour here having been beaten less than half-a-length when racing at this level over 1200m at Caulfield Heath early last month.
Switching to country-level racing is a further positive in this contest and jumping from barrier five he is taken to record a win under Tom Prebble.

Pakenham Value Bet - Race 8 No. 7 Superconstellation
The four-year-old broke debuted with a fifth over 1000m when racing on a good 4 surface at this venue in February last year.
The pick broke through for his first victory when getting home by a narrow margin in a 1200m maiden held on the Heath course at Caulfield the following month.
The son of Squamosa failed to shine on wet tracks in two subsequent starts that prep and it was a similar story in his first two outings this time around.
Notably however, the second of his starts this prep came in a metro Class 1 handicap at Moonee Valley last month.
The selection was freshened following that effort and was a big eye-catcher in finishing well from off the pace when placing third at big odds over 1300m at Cranbourne last time.
Enver Jusufovic’s representative shaped as if the extra distance he tackles here would suit that day and he looks value to double his career tally.
