Duffy & Simon Lawyers 2yo Fillies Maiden Plate Tips (Race 1)
Pakenham Favourite - Race 1 No. 4 Miss Mahjong
The filly has placed on two of her three previous starts including when making a promising debut in finishing third over 1000m at Ballarat in March.
The pick jumped at odds of $31 when beaten just over three-and-a-half-lengths that day and crossed the border for a Listed race at Morphettville Parks subsequently.
Matthew Cumani’s filly was never a factor when finishing seventh in the Dequetteville Stakes that day and she returned to maiden company at Cranbourne last time out.
Racing close to the speed the selection was beaten half-a-length into second on her first start at this distance with the winner going on to place in Listed company at the weekend.
Groove Jet who lines up here finished one place behind her at Cranbourne and with an inside alley she looks up to confirming that form to break her maiden in this contest.

Pakenham Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 1 Nation’s Call
The four-year-old joined the Robbie Griffiths & Mathew De Kock team having demonstrated ability when winning and placing in his native Ireland.
The selection ended his time in the northern hemisphere with a close second in a 1600m handicap at Killarney in July last year.
The colt recorded wins over 1400m in his final two jump outs prior to making his debut for current connections at Sale earlier this month.
The son of Frankel raced prominently having led early when contesting a Benchmark 70 handicap over 1400m at Sale when racing on a good 4 track.
The pick lost out by a length in the end that day but should appreciate the step up to 1600m here with the slightly softer going expected no issue.
Barrier eight shouldn’t pose too many issues here and with Blake Shinn booked to ride the colt looks capable of recording the second win of his career.
Sandi Dove Takes on Sportsbet Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Pakenham Best Bet - Race 5 No. 2 The Jester’s Son
The son of Pierro registered third place finishes on both starts in his first prep including when placing third on a soft 5 track at Geelong on his second start back in October.
The pick was freshened following that effort and he registered placed efforts in each of his first three starts this prep including at metro level at Sandown on his second start back.
The three-year-old finished one place better when beaten half-a-length over 1500m at Mornington at the end of March and duly went one better at Ballarat subsequently.
The gelding came home over two lengths clear of his rivals having finished strongly from off the pace when racing over 1500m on a good 4 track that day.
The step up to 1600m looks likely to suit and with a good barrier the Ben, JD & Will Hayes-trained gelding looks capable of completing a double.
Liberty Equipment Hire 0-64 Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Pakenham Value Bet - Race 6 No. 4 Duel Venture
Trained by Greg Eurell the gelding registered some decent efforts in 2023 including when placing third in a 1000m maiden at Bairnsdale in September.
However the pick ended that year with a below par effort when beating just one rival home in a 1200m maiden on a soft 6 track at Cranbourne in October.
The selection shaped like an improved performer when saluting by two lengths when racing on a good 4 track at Geelong on his return to action in March however.
The four-year-old raced over 1112m that day and confirmed that success was no fluke when a good one-and-a-half-length second over this track and trip subsequently.
The gelding contested a Class 1 handicap on a soft 5 track last time out with the form working out well thanks to subsequent wins for the first and fourth that day.
While this looks a tougher affair the son of Bel Esprit has plenty in his favour and looks value to deliver a victory.
