Pakenham Next Best Bet - Race 1 No. 2 Beautox
This filly has been scratched multiple times since seemingly not running out the 1300m strongly last start, fading over the final 100m.
Her prior effort was very good over 1200m behind Not A Zak who had some city class form behind him, so we can trust that Beautox has more than enough ability to win at Maiden level.
The daughter of Brazen Beau now comes back to the 1200m and has a beautiful barrier to find a spot right on the back of the pace as she did at Moe two back.
The long Pakenham straight does look to suit her sprint as she does take some riding to build into her gears and goes on top in this event.

Pakenham Best Bet - Race 8 No. 3 Deep Dive
This gelding looks to have the right form for mine, coming out of two much stronger benchmark 70 races, finishing third to Moonee Valley specialist Cielo D'oro six weeks ago, that horse having subsequently franked the form.
He is a much stronger galloper on top of the ground, but is adaptive to all surfaces, and does seem to run well when fresh.
Deep Divee will not have to spend a penny from the draw, getting a cosy run in behind the leaders, and if not, he will take it up himself.
Field Of Roses and Ruler By Choice pose as the two main dangers, but both look as if they will get over further, so very happy to side with Deep Dive in the last.
What time is the first race at Pakenham?
The first race at Pakenham jumps at 6pm while the last race jumps at 9.30pm.
Who is the best bet at Pakenham?
We are siding with Deep Dive as the best bet at Pakenham.
