Pakenham Tips for February 4
Iron Jack Australian Lagers 2YO Fillies Maien Plate (Race 1)
Pakenham Value Bet - Race 1 No. 7 Tiz My Bay
This Griffiths & de Kock-trained two-year-old was okay on debut at Caulfield in what could be a strong race on paper.
Being by Cable Bay, she is a filly who will be getting over more ground so the step up to 1200m and the track change from Caulfield to the big track of Pakenham is another plus.
The team trained a two-year-old winner at double figure odds last week, so their stock is going quite well in these races.
Tiz My Bay showed enough to figure here back in grade with the benefit of race experience.

Pakenham Best Bet - Race 4 No. 3 Chompers
Now fourth-up off the back of three very good runs and getting up to the mile which should suit, this gelding looks ready to peak.
He went under last start as a hot favourite, but simply got too far back when up 300m in trip to the 1450m.
Pakenham has the big straight which will suit his powerful finish and Damian Lane in the saddle only adds to the confidence in his chances.
This is not a strong race on paper, with the main danger looking to be the stablemate who will get over even futher in time, making Chompers an even stronger chance on Thursday.

Pakenham Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 4 Office Jim
This four-year-old has been super at all three runs this campaign and was only narrowly denied on January 21.
With no Moeen, and another race where there only looks to be one logical danger, he is the deserved favourite.
Office Jim should have won two starts ago, and comes out of a winning form race prior, so is certainly knocking on the door.
Barrier three should give him a lovely sit behind the second favourite Give Me Ten and hopefully have him nailed to the fence around the bend.
What time is the first race at Pakenham?
The first race at Pakenham jumps at 6.00pm with the last to be run at 9.30pm.
Who is the best bet at Pakenham?
We are siding with Chompers as the best bet of the night at Pakenham.

Chompers is a horse ready to peak up in trip and should be too good in the fourth event.
Office Jim could well have won three from four this prep which would see him racing in Saturday company, so happy to have him on top in race five.
Tiz My Bay has shown enough talent to say she will be in the finish up in trip and on to a big track.
