After whacking away for fourth via a solid return over the Northam 1100m, he briefly loomed as the winner when staying over that track/trip second-up, but faded for a fifth-place finish.
The dreaded bar plates were removed following that August 10 outing and backing up seven days later, Victory Chant caught the eye late at Pinjarra when making ground for sixth.
He was specked at a long price ahead of that Pinjarra attempt and although well held when midfield at Belmont last time, 1400m was a failed shot at the stumps, so back in trip is a tick.

Lynch Family Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Northam Best Bet - Race 6 No. 2 Here's Dreaming
While she was disappointing on July 22, that last performance was via a Saturday metro affair at Belmont and after missing the kick, Here's Dreaming was never in contention.
Trainer Luke Fernie has freshened her right up and we only need to forgive that one bad recent run, as aside from that and a Kalgoorlie miss last year, this mare has always been thereabouts.
Along with a drop in grade suiting, William Pike going on is a massive plus and The Wizard was aboard Here's Dreaming when she saluted at Ascot in March, with that triumph coming third-up.

Smith Family Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Northam Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 8 Kelora
With three runs under his belt following a 13-month absence from racing and dropping from a metro Class 3 to a provincial Class 1 here, this gelding couldn't be better placed.
As Kelora has such a low rating, the five-year-old is hardly penalised despite the big drop in grade on Thursday, as he only carries 1kg more and now Chris Parnham takes over the reins.
The son of Oratorio has handled all surfaces in his three winter performances, where he's steadily improved with each run and he'll be hard fit for a third 1400m attempt of the campaign.

Northam Value Bet - Race 8 No. 3 Starchienne
Having won four of five starts last prep and as still a very lightly raced galloper, Starchienne looked a good thing fresh at Belmont and with no luck, she lost no fans when running third.
Although she contested a harder assignment second-up via a Saturday 60+, I just wonder whether backing up 10 days after such a tough run left her flat in that second-up performance.
Going off that September 2 effort, the six-year-old should relish the step to 1600m and with the winkers back on to sharpen her up, Starchienne can easily atone in a provincial Class 5.
