TABTOUCH STREAM RACING LIVE MAIDEN Tips (Race 3)
Northam Best Bet - Race 3 No. 11 Pepper Assault
From the raced brigade, it does look quite a weak Maiden and with two impressive trials leading into Thurday's debut assignment, this filly can strike with William Pike a significant engagement for this 1100m assignment.
After defeating She's A Sweet Deel (won yesterday) in a June 8 heat, Pepper Assault worked stronger in the fastest 1000m Belmont trial on June 25, ridden with more of a sit on that occasion where she went to the line with Dream Evil, an impressive winner last week.
Drawing barrier three for 'The Wizard' and showing tactical versatility in both public hit outs to date, she does look forward enough to figure straight away and irrespective, wouldn't need to be a world beater to be taking care of this lot.
CONTAINERS FOR CHANGE HANDICAP Tips (Race 5)
Northam Value Bet - Race 5 No. 4 Danny George
While this gelding is looking to break a decent winning drought, he has been mostly competing in stronger Metropolitan sprints since recording back-to-back victories over the winter of 2019, coming back to midweek/Provincial level at the start of this year.
Danny George has been competitive in recent outings, overcoming inconvenience to find the line well behind Vane Tempest on June 6 and via his most recent effort, worked home on the inside for fourth against the wider pattern that was forming in that July 1 affair.
Looking to camp off the speed under 3kg claiming apprentice Hannah Fitzgerald, the six-year-old will appreciate returning to soft ground here and as a galloper that can sprint off any tempo, he has each-way claims at a double figure quote.
AG IMPLEMENTS HANDICAP Tips (Race 6)
Northam Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 1 Campese
An interesting tried horse purchase is this son of Toronado with $105,000 forked for the ex-Victorian who was a fringe city class runner in Melbourne, and one that was a little unlucky not to have won one or two more races last campaign.
With both career wins having come first-up, Campese does come hand to early and while he was a little fortunate to get the eventual run in the last of those victories, that did come on a Soft 7 over 1400m, a similar set-up to this Thursday's tilt.
He's had two trials in readiness for this, the latest a solid hit-out on June 28 which Chris Parnham stays aboard from and with still a relatively low rating, this gelding is one they'll be looking for a return on this winter, starting here in what isn't a deep race.
