Newcastle Tips September 20
Gateshead Traffic Solutions F&M Maiden Tips (Race 3)
Newcastle Best Bet - Race 3 No. 1 Extreme Diva
Even for fillies and mares maiden standards, this is a very average affair and off her two-year-old form, you easily mark Extreme Diva a lot shorter than her current price.
Anthony Cummings is often overambitious with his youngsters, although to be fair, her first prep form from earlier this year warranted the aggressive placements.
Extreme Diva has a few runs under her belt and she had worked well under Tommy Berry in a trial before her August resumption, and he's on for Friday's third-up attempt.
Reward Hospitality Tibbie Stakes Tips (Race 5)
Newcastle Roughie - Race 5 No. 10 Tulsi
She had some handy two and three-year-old form in New Zealand, which includes two Group 1 placings and Tulsi is ticking over well early in her first Australian prep.
The Autumn Sun mare was only just edged out late at Randwick on stable debut for Matthew Dale, where she was giving 5kg and race fitness to Cosy Corner (winner).
Tulsi was hardly forgotten by the market last start via the Listed Mona Lisa Wyong, where she was good off a wide run and the bigger surrounds at Newcastle should suit.
Sharp Office Newcastle Gold Cup Tips (Race 6)
Newcastle Feature Bet - Race 6 No. 3 Redstone Well
This import was consistent throughout his first Australian prep, which includes a Sydney win and on testing ground earlier in winter, the gelding was below his best.
Redstone Well was then freshened-up and on a Soft 5, he improved third-up before bolting in last time out over 2400m, where the six-year-old found a Good 4 surface.
He can just about win this by default, as his main threat (Touristic) is a query at this distance and Etna Rosso (equal second fav) was only fair last start in the Wyong Cup.
Australian Bloodstock Cameron Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Newcastle Value Bet - Race 7 No. 3 Berkshire Shadow
European imports can take a prep to acclimatize and that appears to be the case with Berkshire Shadow, who didn't figure in his first four starts for Ciaron Maher.
Off a very cold trial, the grey was a notable drifter first-up at Rosehill and with no intent via that most recent return, he overcame trouble to finish off well over 1300m.
Australian Bloodstock often target features on Newcastle Cup Day and with J-Mac now aboard for what is an Epsom Qualifier for the winner, this looks a set play second-up.
