Murray Bridge Favourite - Race 3 No. 6 The Punk Rocker
A $30,000 purchase at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in 2023 the gelding had a couple of starts in barrier trials prior to debuting over 1400m at Balaklava at the start of this month.
The three-year-old was beaten seven-and-a-half-lengths in finishing fifth having jumped at $26 that day and he showed improvement stepped up to 1600m subsequently.
The gelding recorded his first placed effort when staying on nicely to be beaten three lengths into second when racing on a wet track at Strathalbyn that day.
Further improvement is expected with the son of So You Think expected to appreciate the step up in distance while jockey Ben Price should have options tactically jumping from barrier six.
Shane & Cassie Oxlade’s representative also holds a Group 1 engagement in Morphettville’s South Australian Derby and he looks up to breaking through for his first win.

Murray Bridge Best Bet - Race 5 No. 7 Nurys
The five-year-old has been in good form this prep registering two second place finishes from as many starts.
The first of those saw her lose out narrowly when contesting a twelve runner 1200m Benchmark 0-62 handicap at this venue last month.
The selection jumped from barrier nine that day with the form of that contest working out well with the eighth and tenth going on to win subsequently.
David Huxtable’s mare went on to fill the same position when stepped up to 1250m for a metro contest on the Parks track at Morphettville two weeks later.
The daughter of Squamosa finished strongly when ridden cold on each occasion and similar tactics are expected here having been freshened since that latest effort.
The drop down from metro-level racing is a positive for Andrew Stead’s mount while the drop back in distance isn’t expected to pose an issue jumping from next to the rail in this contest.
Thomas Farms Benchmark 62 Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Murray Bridge Value Bet - Race 6 No. 5 Grand Maxim
The gelding broke through for his first victory when taking out a 2200m maiden at Balaklava in February.
Racing on a good 4 track the pick tracked the pace in a six-runner contest prior to finishing strongly to deliver a comfortable two-and-a-half-length victory.
The selection lost a plate that day in a race which has seen both the second and third home register wins in the interim.
The son of Swear recorded a couple of solid efforts in defeat including back over 2200m at Balaklava prior to doubling his career tally with a win in an 1800m event at Clare recently.
The six-year-old jumped at $10 for a Class 1 Plate contest held on a good 4 track that day and the step back up in distance is no issue in this contest.
Caitlin Tootell’s mount appeared to appreciate being ridden with more patience last time and while he steps up in grade here he looks value to complete a double.
Mulch ‘n’ More Benchmark 60 Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Murray Bridge Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 3 Falanghina
The daughter of Ilovethiscity’s sole victory last prep came when taking out a Benchmark 0-62 handicap over this track and trip at the start of this season.
While unable to win since the mare has delivered a couple of good efforts in defeat this prep including when beaten just over four lengths into third at Morphettville first up.
The pick jumped at $21 for an 1100m Class 2 handicap that day and she was beaten less than two lengths on the Parks track back at Morphettville subsequently.
The selection recorded good sectionals in finishing fifth stepped up to 1250m for a Benchmark 0-64 handicap on that occasion and she gets an easier contest dropping in grade for this contest.
While both previous victories have come on wet tracks the pick handles a sound surface having raced on a good 4 track in both starts this prep and she looks up to delivering a victory here.
