Murray Bridge Tips July 24
Carlton Draught Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Plate Tips (Race 2)
Murray Bridge Best Bet - Race 2 No. 5 Grint
The three-year-old debuted with a second-place finish in a 1000m maiden held on a soft 5 track here in August last year.
While disappointing that he hasn’t managed to break his maiden in the interim he has delivered a number of good efforts in defeat.
Those efforts include placings in all three starts since resuming with a fifth in a 1050m Benchmark 62 handicap at Morphettville in May.
The selection placed at metro level in maiden company on his next two starts prior to finishing third in a maiden over 1200m at Gawler earlier this month.
The son of Winning Rupert raced on a soft 6 track that day and has jumped from a wide alley in each of his last two starts.
The pick has had better luck with the barrier allocation for this contest with the blinkers worn for the first time at Gawler again in place for this contest.

Murray Bridge Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 9 Kuitpo Kiss
The daughter of Lonhro ended her last prep with two third-place finishes including when beaten just under one-and-a-half-lengths at Clare in March.
The four-year-old raced on a good 4 track when racing over 1100m that day and was spelled following that effort.
The filly returned with an impressive three-length victory in a maiden race held over 900m on a soft 5 track at Mount Gambier earlier this month.
While that form hasn’t been properly tested as yet the seventh home placed second at Mildura recently.
Barrier nine is far from ideal here given she raced prominently at Mount Gambier however jockey Tala Hutchinson again takes a valuable three kilograms off her back.
The Andrew Clarken stable are going well at present and celebrated a metro winner at Morphettville Parks on Saturday and their representative looks value to complete a double.

Murray Bridge Roughie - Race 8 No. 13 Mischievous Tycoon
The mare has registered some good efforts in defeat this prep including when beaten half-a-length in a 1600m event at Balaklava on her penultimate start.
The pick raced on a soft 6 track when contesting a Restricted 56 handicap on that occasion and similar underfoot conditions are expected here.
The five-year-old failed to shine in finishing eleventh in a Class 2 handicap held on a heavy 10 surface at Gawler subsequently however.
Grant Kluske’s representative is expected to appreciate the drop back in distance she gets here and she has run well at this venue in the past.
The selection has underfoot conditions to suit while an inside barrier is a positive having jumped from barrier nine last time out.
Apprentice Brooke King has placed in two of her three starts on the selection and the pair may prove up to surprising to register their first win together.

Murray Bridge Favourite - Race 9 No. 1 Fox Gem
John MacMillan’s gelding is a regular here with six of his eight starts this year coming at this venue.
The pick has finished in the top five on each occasion including when winning by five-and-a-half-lengths over 1600m at the start of May.
That success came when racing at this Benchmark 56 handicap and while unable to salute since he has registered some good placed efforts.
The five-year-old was beaten less than half-a-length in an 1800m Benchmark 68 handicap held on a soft 6 track at Morphettville on his penultimate start.
The step up in distance appeared no issue when three lengths fifth in a Benchmark 66 handicap over this track and trip when last in action July 13.
While the gelding has been allocated a wide barrier that shouldn’t pose too many issues given his racing style and he is taken to register a victory dropping in grade.
