Murray Bridge Best Bet - Race 3 No. 4 Pegasi
The five-year-old has shown that he can perform well first-up in the past, winning once and placing second twice from five fresh attempts.
The victory came when racing over 1200m in an eight-runner contest held on a Soft 5 track at this venue in June last year.
Pegasi narrowly failed to follow up that victory when a close second when dropped to this trip for a Benchmark 78 handicap two weeks later.
He made amends for that defeat when successful over the same trip at Morphettville Parks on July 15 and the only subsequent outing saw him fail to shine when shipping to Sydney to race at Rosehill.
Five of the six horses ahead of him August 5 ave won since (the other is unraced) and Dom Tourneur’s mount looks up to resuming with a victory.

Murray Bridge Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 6 Pointless Praise
Trainer’s Richard & Chantelle Jolly boast a strong hand in this contest and Pointless Praise looks capable of providing them with a victory.
The four-year-old showed good form when delivering a two-and-a-half-length victory in a 2200m Benchmark 58 at Balaklava two starts back.
The gelding raced close to the speed that day and acquitted himself well when a length third over this trip in a course and distance Benchmark 68 at Morphettville on December 26.
The form of that contest received a boost with the fifth home winning back at Morphettville four days later, while the weight drop here is a big tick.
While both the Balakalva and Morphettville efforts came on a sound surface, the son of Pariah registered a decent effort in his only previous start on a wet track.

Murray Bridge Roughie - Race 6 No. 4 Chill With Teejay
Trainer Peter Hardacre has his horses in good form at present, with all three of his runners in 2024 winning.
The handler’s representative here confirmed that she handles wet tracks when delivering a victory in a Benchmark 64 over 1200m at Mount Gambier.
Chill With Teejay raced on a Soft 5 on that occasion and went on to finish two-and-a-half-lengths third in a 1200m contest back on a Good 4 surface at Morphettville on December 26.
While a wide barrier is a negative here, the extra distance shouldn’t pose any issues, with the mare having placed second twice from three starts over this trip.
Apprentice Margarett Collett, on board for three of the mares four starts this prep, including for the Mount Gambier win, takes a valuable three kilograms off here.

Murray Bridge Value Bet - Race 7 No. 3 I’m A Dexstar
Jockey Alana Livesey has built up a good rapport with I'm A Dexstar, having ridden the gelding to victory in two of their three races together.
The sole defeat came when the pair jumped at odds of $12 before finishing third in an 11-runner renewal at Oakbank last April.
Connections spelled their four-year-old, having seen him finish down the field, having jumped at triple-figure odds for a Listed contest at Morphettville Parks two weeks later.
The gelding showed no signs that that effort had left a mark when resuming with a win in a 1210m Benchmark 58 at Port Lincoln.
That race, held on December 31 has already produced a winner, with the sixth home Sir Grumpy winning by a decent margin on January 10.
