Dave Loy Handicap Tips (Race 1)
Morphettville Best Bet - Race 1 No. 3 Savsonic
The New Zealand-bred mare has seen plenty of racing this year having made thirteen appearances including when resuming in a Gawler maiden in May.
The pick has won twice since that effort with the most recent of those triumphs seeing her get home by a narrow margin in a 2050m Class 1 event at Strathalbyn in August.
The five-year-old has placed second in three of her four subsequent starts with two of those coming over this course and distance.
The daughter of Telperion raced on a good 4 track when beaten less than a length into second in a track and trip contest a week ago.
The selection caught the eye in finishing strongly for second on that occasion and she should have no issue with the seven day turnaround.
Stephen Theodore’s representative meets the winner that day Dolcemente on improved terms here and looks capable of registering her third win of the year.

Morphettville Roughie - Race 6 No. 5 Fashion Dog
The son of Shalaa broke through to deliver his first victory when taking out an 1100m maiden on a soft 7 surface here at the start of June.
Notably the gelding was racing second up on that occasion and while he failed to shine in two subsequent starts there were encouraging signs back here last time.
Returning from over three months off the track the pick was beaten less than three lengths having jumped at $31 for a 1050m Class 1 handicap here two weeks ago.
The selection lost a plate and was ridden cold that day and more positive tactics are expected on this occasion.
While the gelding would appreciate any overnight rain he appeared to have no issues with the good 4 going last time out.
The four-year-old has been allocated barrier two here and expect jockey Ben Price to try and take advantage of that insider barrier with his mount racing second up this prep.

Morphettville Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 5 The Great Baby
The five-year-old has demonstrated a liking for this venue in the past placing second three times from four starts here in his last prep.
Those second-place finishes all came over 1200m including when narrowly beaten in a Benchmark 68 handicap on a good 4 track in May.
Similar underfoot conditions are expected here with the gelding going on to record a half-length success in a 1200m Benchmark 64 handicap at Murray Bridge next time.
The son of Zebedee was spelled following that triumph and showed solid form in a barrier trial at Strathalbyn prior to resuming over 1050m here two weeks ago.
The pick came home just over a length behind the winner when racing from mid-division in a Benchmark 78 handicap that day.
Kayla Crowther, on board last time is again set to ride and jumping from an inside barrier the pair are selected to go one better in this event.

Morphettville Value Bet - Race 9 No. 11 Runaway Belle
Jockey Lachlan Neindorf boasts a 20% strike-rate (9/45) in metro races in South Australia this season and looks to have solid claims in the finale.
The pick won first up last prep when delivering a length victory in a 900m Benchmark 56 handicap at Murray Bridge in January.
While she was unable to win in five subsequent outings she did manage four top four finishes.
The most recent of those saw the five-year-old lose out by a narrow margin when contesting a Benchmark 64 handicap over this course and distance in early April.
Phillip Stokes’ mare made just one subsequent appearance finishing down the field over 1100m here the following month.
The mare got home by a narrow margin when trialling over 800m on the Parks course here recently and she is expected to be sharp for her return.
An inside alley is a further positive with the daughter of Pariah looking value to resume with a win.
