Morphettville will run a nine race program on July 24 and our free betting tips along with our preview is available below.
TAB Handicap Tips (Race 4)
Morphettville Best Bet - Race 4 No. 5 Pindaric
By Fastnet Rock and out of a stakes-winning mare in Champagne Cath, Pindaric recorded back-to-back victories in his first campaign, saluting as our value selection at Balaklava last July then was freshened-up and sent to Morphettville for start two.
Despite still doing a lot wrong in his races and looking vulnerable on at least a few occasions which includes the July 3 return when stepping up to 78 level, this gelding has remained unbeaten from now five attempts, showing great tenacity on each occasion.
What does suit this four-year-old is the wider draws over these big, one-turn sprint events, so barrier eight is just about ideal as it allows Jessica Eaton to keep him rolling in a race that isn't all that much harder to what he faced first-up.
The Junction Handicap (Race 7)
Morphettville Value Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Morialta
After showing some promise over his first racing preparation, Morialta rattled home late via that return run on April 28 where although the 1050m was as short as he wanted, that winning time stacked up quite well for Maiden class.
While he was a little flat second-up at Murray Bridge, the Benchmark 58 contest he competed in on June 30 was a nice little drop in grade and with the blinkers on, he stormed home late to salute as one of our best bets on that program.
With that key gear change in effect for this three-year-old who still has plenty of improvement to come, he retains the services of Kayla Crowther who is the perfect match as he's best ridden cold and coming home with one run, which is her bread and butter.
Irish Race Day at Morphettville - Saturday August 14 Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Morphettville Value Bet - Race 8 No. 2 Extra Mile
Although he hasn't been able to find the winner's stall since recording an eye-catching fresh victory at Gawler, the son of Akeed Mofeed has remained competitive since then, arriving here hard fit with six runs under his belt.
That could well be a key factor later in this card on a testing surface and Extra Mile will have no problem handling whatever this circuit throws up, as he hasn't finished outside the quinella in two heavy track attempts and is one that is adept on any ground.
Despite rising in the weights on Saturday, he finds himself down in grade off his last two outings and from out wide which we think could be an advantage on this card, there's no reason why he can't be right in the mix at an each-way quote.
Pike & Joyce Handicap Tips (Race 9)
Morphettville Next Best Bet - Race 9 Mo. 9 Melody Man
It was hard to miss the eye-catching debut from this Jake Stephens-trained gelding over the six furlongs at Murray Bridge last July, where he balanced up over the last 100m and was powerful through the line late.
The son of Fiorente was able to break through two starts later when stepping up to the 1800m, the same trip he faces via the last on Saturday and after being given plenty of time to mature since that preparation, he's been strong in two 1400m efforts this winter.
Staying at the seven furlongs, Melody Man did look that bit more dour second-up, albeit still held off a progressive runner in Motell and over this extra 400m, looks close to a peak as the runner in this field with seemingly the most upside.
