Morphettville Parks will run a nine race program on June 5 and our free betting tips along with our preview is available below.
Leconfield Handicap Tips (Race 2)
Morphettville Value Bet - Race 2 No. 2 Great Diviner
While I do think he'll really prosper once he gets over a little more ground, this gelding should only improve off his fresh effort at Murray Bridge where he had some excuses and he does drop in grade for this second-up attempt.
Eased right backed early from a wide draw in that May 22 despite jumping well, Great Diviner was just there to get back and hit the line first-up, which he did in restricted room against more seasoned rivals.
Catching the eye with an enormous debut victory on the Morphettville Parks circuit back in February and tipped out following just an even effort at start two, he may just have the class to get away with this, back against the three-year-old's.
Furphy Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Morphettville Value Bet - Race 6 No. 1 Octane
Although this gelding can seemingly be about as reliable as an ashtray on a motorbike, at double figure odds in a Benchmark 76, this five-year-old warrants consideration for the each-way punters.
A half-brother to The Quarterback, a Group One winning sprinter, Octane worked through the grades for the Phillip Stokes stable, winning six of his first seven races for the new yard prior to last spring when contesting some strong sprints in Melbourne.
Following a shocking start to the autumn, it was a much-improved effort last start at Murray Bridge and suited back to 1000m, should get the tempo to suit, especially given how much of the early speed has drawn out in this line up.
Holdfast Insurance Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Morphettville Best Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Lady Bethany
The market wanted nothing to do with this resuming mare at Murray Bridge ($4.60-$6.50) and the 10th of 13 finishing position did that May 22 performance little justice for this honest galloper.
Kept in a pocket at key stages in the run home, Lady Bethany is last and still switching off heels at the 100m before launching late in a big effort and staying at Benchmark 60 level with the smart 3kg claim of Jamie Opperman is a big positive.
The six-year-old defeated a handy sprinter in Trip second-up last campaign, a mare that's rated well above anything in this field and the 1250m on the Parks circuit is about her sweet zone, with three of her four wins having come over this track/trip.
David 'DT' Thomas Memorial Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Morphettville Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 11 Pearl Bandit
Had he drawn more towards the inside in this 1550m contest, I do think this son of Rebel Raider would be the outright favourite here, a galloper that is projecting towards a peak performance with now three runs under the belt.
You're doing well to find a poor showing over 31 starts to date from Pearl Bandit, who has been so consistent and improved last spring, recording two victories at Metropolitan level along with a string of top three finishes.
Via his third-up tilt when crossing the border, he arguably should've won that Benchmark 78 at Flemington after being held-up in the straight before launching late and with a pinch of luck here, is more than capable of bringing up win number six.
