Morphettville Value Bet - Race 3 No. 1 Mount Madeira
Formerly under the care of the Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young was this sont of Redwood who was never in contention over this track and trip via his first run for the David Jolly yard, but with the blinkers going on, we saw much improved effort at Gawler on December 19 when back in trip.
Mount Madeira was racing in restricted room throughout the run home in that 1500m contest which as a result, never allowed him to find any momentum but found the line fairly for third and has continued to race well in her last two outings, including a big finish in the Strathalbyn Cup when fifth behind Eperdument.
That winner was runner-up at Listed level last Saturday and while this gelding is right up in the weights now, the trade-off is that he now gets a very accomplished senior hoop in Todd Pannell taking over, which could very well prove the difference.

Morphettville Best Bet - Race 4 No. 1 Neodium
While he goes up in the weights, this lightly raced gelding from the powerful Phillip Stokes yard remains at Benchmark 58 level following a nice return victory over 1100m at Strathalbyn and he does look the one with some upside versus mostly limited and well exposed opposition.
Neodium was honest in four attempts in Victoria before crossing the border and making light work of a Maiden field last July at Murray Bridge, where they did get home in good time for that trip/class and that event has produced four subsequent winners.
He has drawn out but will roll forward under jockey Jake Toeroek and with his main threat Apollo Jet drawn even wider, this striking grey gelding can potentially get a pretty soft run up front as there doesn't appear to be a lot of speed drawn inside of that pair.

Morphettville Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 6 Miss Artier
Off a forgivable second-up Morphettville performance where she was completely unsuited, this daughter of Ambidexter can bounce back this Friday with a little more in her favour.
While Miss Artier is one that won't be thrilled with the meeting transfer from her home deck of Strathalbyn, where she won fresh at 1100m, Ryan Hurdle who has been aboard for her last two victories takes back the reins and from barrier four, he can at least camp midfield.
With no second-up form, this five-year-old settled at the rear in that last attempt and in a race where the first four out of the gates all finished in top four positions, she was beaten under two and a half lengths while with better speed engaged here, we'll be able to see her finish off stronger.
