Moonee Valley Value Bet - Race 3 No. 2 Kind Gesture

There were excuses last start at Group 3 level, where Kind Gesture was back in a sit/sprint at Caulfield that was tailormade for the winner, who was handed that on a platter.

The five-year-old was specked at a price in that latest outing and the start prior at Flemington, the Michael Kent-trained mare went past Fire Of Etna with less favours in the run.

Fire Of Etna is a $2 fav, which is bizarre going off their last clash and the market elect was defeated half a length in this company last start, whereas Kind Gesture plummets in grade.

Moonee Valley Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 10 Rise At Dawn

This is his hardest assignment to date, however, Rise At Dawn is comfortably the most progressive horse in a BM70 that lacks depth (most of these are at their ceiling).

His main threat is Zamborghini, who admittedly finds a winnable race after running into a smart one last time, but he isn't the easiest to catch and that rival may have already peaked.

A dominant debut winner last winter who was then unlucky at Sandown, Rise At Dawn had all favours fresh, however, it was still a four-length win and he'll relish a mile now.

This Ciaron Maher-trained galloper has been knocking on the door in four Australian outings and now having completed a pair of runs in this distance range, it's D-Day.

Lauding was solid over the 1400m on Australian debut before pulling up lame second-up in a decent form race at Caulfield, however, he bounced back two starts back at Flemington.

After being eased back to the rear, Lauding was hard to miss third-up behind an all-the-way winner and it's less said the better in regards to his latest horror show.

Moonee Valley Roughie - Race 6 No. 3 Skywolf

This Team Hawkes gelding is still very lightly raced for a six-year-old, having completed just the 15 starts overall and the strike-rate is handy, with five victories to his name.

Fresh has been the best time to catch Skywolf, as the gelding has three wins and a third from four first-up attempts, which includes a return triumph in stronger company last prep.

He was unlucky a few times with wide runs late in that last campaign, however, Skywolf is a little suspect when attempting anything past a sprint distance, with 1200m his pet trip.
