Moonee Valley Tips For December 18
Vertex Roofing Handicap Tips (Race 3)
Moonee Valley Best Bet - Race 3 No. 3 Tycoon Bec
Matt Cumani gave this four-year-old mare a big wrap last start when she won by nearly five lengths at Kyneton.
She looks a very easy ride, with great early gate speed, and having drawn four in this race, should lead over the 1523m journey.
Apprentice Will Price will take the ride and takes 3kg off of her back which brings her very well in at the weights for Class 1 company.
With the rail out five metres on Friday night, we would prefer to be on those horses that can at least sit handy in the run.
Ascend Sales Trophies Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Moonee Valley Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 12 Sayumi
After a dominant win at this track and trip last start, there is no reason she cannot repeat the dose, especially with the second place horse subsequently bolting in at Caulfield.
She loves Moonee Valley, yet to miss a placing at the track, and thrives on the 1200m, yet to miss the top two from three attempts.
The Laurie stable is going really well at the moment, striking at 16% from his last 50 runners.
This mare can go through the grades this prep and possibly feature in some nice summer sprints with the turn of foot the she has shown.
Drummond Golf Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Moonee Valley Value Bet - Race 8 No. 9 Du Well
I have always had a soft spot for this mare, but after the team struggled to get her back to her best at the start of the year, she looked to have one more chance to find form.
First-up this prep, the daughter of Duporth was very good at Sandown behind Ididitforlove and Ziavera, the latter she meets again.
Her second-up stats are always better than her first-up runs, and seeing that fresh effort was so encouraging, she should be able to show some really nice form here.
The Griffiths and de Kock stable are low-flying at present and seem to have Du Well in a good head space.
